Hello everyone, the other day I saw a neat looking german helmet. I wasnt going to buy it because im broke and I didn’t have time to post pictures of it for you experts to authenticate. Before I was going to ask what the price was, I noticed that the liner was not Lether! It was webbing liner that you find in steel pot helmets. I was confused and decided to "drop it like its hot" because I thought it was a fake. Just to make sure, is there any information you guys would share on helmets like that? Are they collectible?

I’m not even sure if this is in the right category because I don’t know what it is for one and two, I don’t know if it’s real. I’m guessing that it’s a reproduction but I would like you folks to confirm this. Local guy came in and gave me this helmet. His dad picked it up during the war. His son used to run around in the yard wearing it. I know it’s luftwaffe but was wondering what time period, what the white band signifies (or was it for a strap/camo. Estimated worth. Thank you. The paint is one coat only. Chin strap missing. Not a repro.
