Hello everybody,
after a few posts I realize that the most outstanding comment in my opinion is the I should save my money (in a way) and buy reference books for german helmets. Im willing to invest in them to save money in the future. What books are out there that would be reliable reference material to identify authentic ww2 german helmets? Please post the name of the book and author.

Hi, I was just given this by a 93 year old Jewish lady, pulled out of her basement where it unfortunately received some water damage. Anyway, her husband guarded POW’s in Germany after the war and brought this home with him without her knowledge (that is, until Tuesday). She sent it home with me for my boys to play with or wear on Halloween (thought you guys might like that cool militaria).

Anyway, after a little research it looks like it’s too valuable for my family to keep (I can personally guarantee that if it stays in my house it’ll be junk in just a few short weeks). Feedback from the community as to what it is worth and where to sell would be appreciated. I live in the Chicago area.

Hi all,

I found this Railroad / Building Eagle and would like to get some opinions on it. It isn’t the first one I’ve come across, so I’ve had a little bit of education on these. This one seems to fit the profile of "authentic" as it still had the bolts attached (even has one nut still attached). Makers mark is present, along with the elements breakdown on the reverse. Looks like a good one to me.

Wingtip-to-wingtip measures approx. 28"
