Mint dlv buckle for review

Attachment 154596I just got this today - a MINT DLV (Deutscher Luftsport Verband) buckle. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this very rare buckle. I would like you buckle experts to give me your honest opinion whether this is really rare, and more important - is it genuine? I am put off by the flimsy claw, but never having seen one of these before, perhaps that is acceptable. The reverse side of the buckle is painted a flat light green - almost an OD. I see a tiny bit of wear going into the catch, but that is good. Somebody at least tried it on. :)Attachment 154595

Dress Tunic

I don’t have much faith in the shoulder board devices. I would like to know the era of this tunic and insignia.

Lend-Lease Gymnastiorka

I picked up some Soviet uniforms and was wondering how to determine if they are WWII or after.

German Red Cross Helmet

I have been offered a German Red Cross helmet for $200.00. Pictures attached. It came from a lot containing other wwii items that have appeared to be authentic. Does this helmet look good and is there any collectible and dollar value for this style german helmet? Is it rare?

I do not believe it is combat but more a service organization. Please let me know if worth getting. If I do not keep it I would like to resell or trade and not lose money.

Thanks
Joe

Important! Welcome to the new forum!

Hi Guys, this is a new venture for us. This forum has been added as a sub forum to the already existing German cap forum.

The idea being that this section will be simply for questions regarding authenticity alone. So please post all your "Real or Fake" questions here.

If you just wish to post "show and tell" threads about your caps, which do not require answers regarding originality, please use the other forum.

I would also like you to welcome Ben as our new moderator here. I have known Ben for a number of years now and he has a very good working knowledge of Third Reich era caps and their construction techniques.

Cheers, Ade.
