Mars Task Force patch

Attachment 159270Attachment 159271Attachment 159272Here is a kaki shirt with the Mars Task Force patch worn by:
Frank Elsworth
5037th Merrills Marauders
124th cavalry
This is a very rare American shirt and patch. Mr. Elsworth said they wore their Kaki’s with a tie in South East Asia. No jackets. I have his complete uniform including his Ike jacket.
I thought the patch collectors would enjoy a look at an original Mars Task Force theater made bullion patch.

Fake Das Reich cuff title?

I am 99.9% sure this is a fake. There is a whole pile of different ones being offered as a vet bring back etc etc. They pass black light, but the backing is all wrong, and has none of the salt & pepper Adrian describes in the 'How to spot a fake' thread. Can you confirm that this is indeed a bad copy.

WWII German and unk ammo

Hello All,
I just joined this forum and would like to already thank some of you, for postings that helped me ID some ammo I got from my dad-in-law. He served in the 612th Tank Destroyer Bn as the XO of Charlie Co., seeing action in Normandy, Brest, Northern France, Bulge and the Rhineland campaign. Came home without a scratch!
You helped me ID an 8mm Lebel round I have. I also have about 10 rounds of what looks like 8mm Mauser (head stamps of DM & 43). I have a few odd rounds I can’t tell what they are.

They look like a long 9mm Para, with headstamp markings of: IX, P, 38 and the Nazi crest. Another round is a rifle round approx the same length as the Mauser’s, but it has a funny double shoulder on it and an un-jacketed lead bullet. Head stamp is: St*, eej,43 & 4. Thx again for the help. Ps: I can’t figure out how to put the photos in this email! They are stored in my pictures file on my PC.

Need help! Brodie pattern helmet stamped ZC223 inside rim.

Found this helmet in Canada. May have been lost by owner. I’ve been unable to find out where this was made from various lists of manufacturers. Are there any records of which soldier was issued which serial number?
Thank you so much!

Can anyone identify this aircraft wreck?

Hello, seems like a lot of knowledgeable people posting here, can anyone help
me identify a submerged wreck? I was told that it was a German WW2 plane, but
when I snorkelled the site it looked more like a Cessna or maybe a Piper. It doesn’t look like any of the WW2 models I ever made as a kid. This
wreck lies in Little Vathi Harbour in Meganissi, Greece. Nobody seems to know what it is for sure, and I’m going nuts trying to find out.
Can anyone identify this machine?
Cheers.

2 silver 1939 wound badges for sale, or trade

I would like to sell or trade 1, or both of these silver wound badges. I see similar badges in similar condition for sale on Collector’s Guild for over $50.00 each. I will take $35.00 each for them. There are no maker marks that I can see. Apparantly they are zinc, and zinc loses it’s silver - according to CG. Shipping to USA will be $3 each. Foreign will be $4 Attachment 159250Attachment 159251Attachment 159252Attachment 159253

WW2 Medal of Honor - Desmond Doss

Hello,
I got lucky in my opinion, picking up 3 signed documents in a auction related to MOH recipient Desmond Doss won earned the honor on Okinawa. He was a Corpsman and refused to carry a weapon during battle. Anyway, I’ve scanned the articles and put them up on my website which relates to Okinawa in general.

Semper Fi,
Bob

Statues of German Military / Political Themed for Sale

Hi,

I have 50+ statues which vary in nature but alot are based around 3rd reich, ww2 Germany, Hitler, Nazis, etc.

Most were bought at Manion’s auction in the 1990s and I have the original receipts for many of them.

I have listed my asking price in US dollars + the original auction price from the 90s if I was able to find it. More pictures of each item are available (just tell me the item #).

No reasonable offer will be refused for any of the pieces especially if buying multiple. I can send a full list to anybody who wants it (I’ll try to attach to this thread tho). Please note, the hitler bust (item#166) is $1000 + the helmetted soldier is $400 (item #130).

Can do a paypal transaction or local NY transaction. This forum has been a valuable resource for getting help on many of these pieces so I will donate a portion of any item sold thru here to the forum.

Or if you are more comfortable setting up an ebay listing, that is fine too.

-KP
