New book: German rifle grenades and launchers till 1945

Dear collectors,

since a few days my book "Deutsche Gewehrgranaten und Gewehrgranatgeräte bis 1945" (German rifle grenades and launchers till 1945) is finished. It was a long work during the past years, but now it’s ready.

The book is bound with hardcover and contains 396 pages with 706 pictures (many of them are in colour).

Please note: The language is German only !!

This book shows the German developments and their use in both world wars. Described are the different rifle grenades (incl. experimental grenades), the launchers and special weapons for shooting the grenades (grenade rifle, MG 151, 2-cm-Flak, etc.), the use in foreign countries and copies made by other nations (GB, Japan, Italy, etc). A lot of interesting colour pictures show the details of original grenades and weap-ons. Included are also lists of manufacturers and drawings from patents.

The prices are
- in Germany 39,- EUR incl. postage (registered and insured).

- in Europe 42,- EUR incl. postage (registered and insured).

- to USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Japan 68 USD by airmail incl. postage (registered and in-sured).

And if you like I can sign the book for you.

My email-address is GGBuch@web.de

Payment is accepted by bank transfer, Paypal or cash (EUR or USD) in a registered letter.

With best wishes from Germany
Michael Heidler

Need help! Russian Czarist era shoulder board

I am making a historic graphic novel situated to Russo-Japanese war. There fought this guy whose shoulder board really puzzles me. Since he is the main character and I would like draw his ranks correctly I’d need to know what is the symbol in his shoulderpad? And does anyone have a better picture of it?

I know he should be a member of Russian 52nd Njezhin Dragoon Regiment. His ranks were JLieutenant Colonel. This is the only picture I have but you can even see the silver board with 2 red stripes on it. The rest is mystery.

This helmet is being advertised as late 1940’s German fire helmet, being a WW2 repaint. Is this correct, or is this just another wanabee?

Rifle Valise

Not knowing too much about British gear, what can you tell me about this? I think I understand the 44th AB ( Indian) and REME but don’t quite understand the ‘work shop (?)….Are these around or is this a somewhat rare piece?

Gau Essen Buckle

I have the chance to pick up this Gau Essen buckle. The color strikes me as a bit odd. Has anyone seen one like this? Thanks.
