My Long Lee Enfield

Here’s a Long Lee Enfield I have. Serial # 7527, Mk I, BSA & M CO. dated 1896. 303 cal. The serial number places the rifle as used by Canadians and and a good probably in the Boer war by the Canadians troops. It is all correct and matching with about 95% original bluing remaining and is complete with the volley sights. It also has the almost always missing, clearing (not cleaning) rod, used to clear the chamber of a stuck case. It replaced the cleaning rod of the earlier models and has no eye for a patch. The bore is about good-VG condition with strong rifling. A very nice looking excellent condition rifle. It’s complete with a correct good condition bayonet w/o scabbard. The clearing rod fits in a hole in the bayonet‘s handle.

Opinion on Iron crosses 2nd class

I picked up these two crosses the other day. I think the WW1 2nd class looks OK to me (3 piece constructions and it have a magnetic, iron core) but I am not sure about the WW2 2nd class cross. It is not of 3 piece construction and the core is not magnetic. Any Opinion?

Question Wolfgang Willrich Poster?

Hello, everyone here has been most informative. I have done my best to verify the existence of the poster/print I have. The item is printed, I looked at it through a loop and could see the CMYK dot pattern. It measures - printed area 30cm x 41cm with the total paper area 34cm x 45cm. The paper has a noticable warp and weave. The image is that of "Bewahrte Truppenfuhrer des Heers - Generaloberst Guderian". On the bottom left is printed "M/1257" and has a copyright date of 1943 in Berlin.

I found that Willrich moved to Berlin in 1943. I am familiar with his postcards but have NEVER seen a poster of any personality. Please help me determine if this is a 3rd Riech item or a marketing gimmick for "collectors". Thanks

Fake Assmann Marked HJ Buckle

Hello, friends. I have been asked to provide some details as to what is incorrect about the fake HJ shown here and which is marked for Assmann. At this moment all I know is that this is a known fake…one that I have now seen a more than a few times and that might deceive someone. To my knowledge Assmann did not mark in this way. I will ask Chad later today for some pointers to share. Any help or comments are much appreciated!

Best,
Adam

Reichsluftschutzbund Notice

Got this today. Apart from it saying that it is something you must know, I have no idea what it is for. Please have a look and translate for me, if possible. Thank you. Please note that the item is actually a dirty green-blue colour, but the scanner does not show this.

S.A. - matching pairs

This is I think quite an unusual and quite attractive design of SA eagle and swastika.

Attached are images of the same basic design buckle, both as brass and I think, chrome rather than nickle silver on brass.

Regards,

David
