New more info on this WWII overcoat?

I am not sure if this is the place to post but I need more info I am not a WW2 know about the whole thing or what not but i do know I have this WW2 peacoat jacket and I have alot of pictures of this jacket … at my slideshow link below.

Slideshow by Steven

here is a brief of the jacket

This jacket is in mint condition with no wear and tear, no holes or any real signs of use. The jacket has two "The Great Seal of the United States of America" metal buttons on the top shoulders and has 6 plastic The Great Seal of the United States of America on the front and has two more plastic buttons were the collar is to hold the collar down. The jacket also has two pockets on the inside of the jacket. It has a belt on the back so you can ajust it to your needs buttons. Again we are not sure of the history of the jacket but the tag is labeled with the name "ERICH VOSS" and may have been his jacket as a prisoner of World War II.

the thing I am not sure about the erich voss named on the tag? and when i search for erich voss brings me too a germany leader under hitler? during the WW2 so I am not so sure if this was his prisoner jacket or not I’m not so sure but maybe someone may know? but anways thanks for the help in advanced

:)

Headed to Germany in December…..

I have a captured Soldbuch I inherited from a great uncle who fought for the 99th infantry. I was wondering if I would have any issues with German customs if they found it?

Is there any place I can go near Munich to conduct any research to see if this person survived the conflict? My wife and I have debated for years whether we should attempt to find the owner or his family to return the book. My great uncle was an "old man" when he entered service, he passed away before I really knew him or ever spoke to him. Not unlike many, he never really shared too many of his experiences with anyone. Pity, knowing what I know now, I would have loved to sit down with him and just talk.

All the best……any help would be greatly appreciated.

CS Menndenhall/Jones/Gardner rifle

A friend inherited this rare MJG rifle made in Greensboro NC. Thought you guys might like to see it before he sells it. I have only handled 3 and see a few others in museums. Mendenhall and Gardner were Quakers. Mendenhall was asked not to return to church for making implements of war. There were several variations, see Hill/Antohony’’s book on Confederate firearms.

Help with unidentified visor cap: Possibly fielgershaft?

Can anyone identify this visor cap?? Has black piping and it’s Luftwaffe blue gray color. But the cap band is the same color as the body. Even early luftwaffe had a mohair cap band.
and it’s not RLB either. As far as I can tell RLB doesnt use black piping.Any ideas. thanks
