Interesting story

Hi guys, I wanted to share this with you. I have been a black belt for around 10 years now, and have know my Karate teacher the same ammount. Just today, I noticed he had two French berthier bayonets, a bayonet from WW1, a Russian nagant, and a 1917 trench knife. I asked him about it, and he told me he was in the military. The man is around 95 years old. He said he served in Europe (I think he is Polish, Czech) and when he came here, he got acquired them some how. He started to use them and teach with them in the 50’s, 60’s, like how to defend your self from an attack. To my amazement, all 4 of the edged weapons and pistol are in great condition. I just wanted to tell you guys. I might try to ask him more about his military career, or try to take pictures of his items.

M40 Q64 Med/DAK Camo Former SD Heer

Hi Ade, Thanks for the comment. Here is an M40 Q64 Med/DAK camo helmet. The lot # is either DN196 (probable) or DN 198 (possible). It was originally a SD Heer. The decal was covered when the tan paint was brush applied. When the camo paint over the decal flaked off it took with it most of the decal with it. The decal was NOT liberated post war. It is salty, but in my opinion a real combat veteran. Hope you all enjoy it. Cheers, Jim G.

German POWs

In this photo is my Uncle Don with a group of German POWs I beleive taken in Germany? Possibly France. He returned with two captured pistols- Walther PPK and a 1936 S/42 Luger. Both wonderful pieces. Possibly from one of the captives pictured here! I have attached photos of the group and the pistols. Enjoy.

Unidentified “Upright Swastika” Buckle

I wonder if anyone has any ideas about this buckle?

The buckle is definitely period and definitely not a post 1945 fantasy item, however having said that, who could have worn it ?

The buckle appears in at least one period catalogue without any description or designation and furthermore, the buckle appears in at least one buckle reference book with a "youth" association.

As always, any comments would be welcome.

Regards,

David
