question about Umsiedlungslager

Hi,

Was a Umsiedlungslager something like a DP camp, but in Germany during the war?

Neil.

Need help! Ritterkreuz Recipient Hinrich Ahrens-How did He Earn It?

Hello Guys…
I just bought an autographed photo of Knight’s Cross Recipient Hinrich Ahrens. Can anyone tell me what he accomplished in order to earn the decoration?
Any information AT ALL about him or his unit is greatly appreciated!

New Pickelhaube…rare Regt.

Gents, picked this up, quite cheaply, but needs some TLC, last owner had polished it up, thus it has lost its 'ghosting' around the wappen, it is rather a rare helmet, being faintly marked on the rear visor '6.Th.I.R.95' which is "6. Thüringisches Infanterie-Regt. Nr.95 (Gotha, II BN Hildburghausen, III Bn Coburg) XI Armee Korps. The Saxe-Coburg-Gotha cockade is a at the very least a re-paint, but they can be sourced, the Wappen/front plate is the rare 'Fuerst' plate, (only has 2 brass grommeted holes on front, no extra holes!) this plate is damaged (missing a leg and tailfeathers) and missing the central 'State' wappen. I intend over time to return to its former glory, hopefully ! I include some photographs, you can just make out the markings. It has its interior, however at some stage it has had its 'fingers' neatly cut back to form an officers type sweatband, why, we shall never know, perhaps to emulate an officers for comfort, perhaps it had the removable officers type skull cap liner retrofitted by its owner, who knows, still an interesting and rare marked helm.

An original Jungsturm Voran buckle

I finally found a Jungsturm Voran buckle the I am 99% sure is original. It is in nickel with some of the paint left on the rondell( not sure this is period but I can always remove it if need be). Reid gave his bleesing on this and Patzwall actually mentions hat these were amde in nickel as well as brass. The solder points sold me on this they are near perfect deep, smooth and rounded on the bottom like you see on all the really old school solder jobs. Comments would be welcome.

Private tailor tags on an Allgemeine SS tunic.

Ok, i have this tunic, and i have never seen this private tailor mark before, It is sewn into the collar area of the tunic.

There is an ROCK SS tag sewn into the inside pocket, and some ink type markings also that are beneath the inside breast pocket.

I thought i would ask the experts in here.

Here are pics.

Thanks
Brian

Help with original ww1 posters…NEAT!

Hello friends,

I have recently come into a pair of original WW1 posters. I own a landscaping company and was offered to trade around $75 worth of my services for these 2 posters. The old man that gave them to me said they were from his fathers regiment from WW1: the
37th infantry regiment company "K". Both posters have his name listed on them. One has the entire regiments names including his on it. I was wondering if anyone has seen anything like these before as I have not. As a collector of only WW2, this is out of my range of collecting. Would these posters be "RARE" or are they a common item among ww1 collectors? I couldnt find too too much on the regiment itself, but I didnt really get too deep into researching. If anyone could comment, it would be much appreciated. I never really sell anything from my collection but these are out of my "norm" and if they would be a nice addition to anyones collection, I might part with them to a forum member for the right price….but even that would be difficult for me to do. LOL. One poster is in good shape, but the other is torn up on the bottom, but still fully legible. Check em out and let me know what ya think!

here are the first 2 pics….. NOTE THESE ARE 2 different posters
