Similarities between WW1 and WW2 for Soldiers in Battle?

Well, as the topic states, I am curious what the similarities between the two World Wars were, from a soldiers perspective.
I have found a few, but I am sure some of you know a lot about this and can enlighten me.

Thanks in advance,

Cheers

Set Square (U-Boat?)

Interesting item, came up in a conversation with a friend, who kindly sent a photo of it, his father collected it during WWII, my friend believes it to be a U-boat item.

Anyone seen one marked like it before?

Thanks, Major Neuheim.

Early post-war period and N.S.Z.

Chaps!

I am doing some memoir research on a very interesting (to me at least :) ) aspect of the early post-war period and N.S.Z.

Anyone know anything at all about the leaders of the N.S.Z. talking to Poilsh leadership in UK about forming a Legion of Polish Volunteers in Spain to fight in Korea alongside the U.S. and British Armies???

Another fascinating part of the same story:

Question Can anyone tell anything from these pics???

These are two Pic’s of my Great uncles Otto and Fritz Plontasch. They both served with the Heer, I was told one of them was a combat medic. Can anyone with more knowledge than myself tell anything from the uniforms as to what unit, or branch if service they were in, one has a number on his epilept, thats the only thing we have to go on!!!

Any help would be appreciated, I know I haven’t given you much to go on.

One was KIA in Russia near Pochov, the other is MIA.
