Question Officer mapcase - which type?

Dear all,

I'm looking for some information about this russian mapcase. Could someone identify it precisely? Which pattern is it? This one comes from a German vet which wrote in it the names of all the places where he has been fighting (northern Africa and Italy).

Thank you in advance for your comments,

Cheers
Teka

Need help! Have a group of medals that I need to authenticate!

I bought this group with a refund guarantee. I think I am going to send the war merit back even if it is real. Please take a look at the pics.

All these items supposedly came from one salesman display board. The 1939 Sprange is marked L/11.
The KVK 1 is marked L/11 but the pin does not open as the clasp is squeezed shut?
The close combat badge is marked:
"FEC. W.E. PEEKHAUS BERLIN" and
"AUSF A.G.M.u.K Gablonz"

Please respond if you think these are authentic. Pictures are attached.

-Martin

Bootsale this morning

Just picked this 1943 dated great coat and this 1949 Patt BD with REME shoulder title up for a fiver :D The coat is a bit battered and the moths have had a bit of a go at it :( It is nicely marked however. Does the broad arrow in a C mean that it is Canadian? As a bonus when I looked through the pockets this armourer’s trade badge came out! Its been a good morning :)

WW2 Katana Legal in Britain?

Hello,

I am planning to buy a Katana in Britain. Now in The Netherlands these are legal. But are these legal in the UK as well? I want to buy one through a colleague but don’t want him to get into trouble. I will pick it up myself and travel by plane.

Can anyone help me with this? It would cost me quite a bit if this goes wrong and would not like my colleague to get behind bars :)

Cheers,
Rick

Some relics from the Somme

Just a few pics of stuff I found when visiting the area of the Leipzig salient on the Somme recently. Just shows theres still stuff to be found. If anyone can ID the fuzes that would be great, and also if anyone knows what the item in the last photo is I would like to know. I didnt pick it up as I was unsure of what it was.

Many thanks.

I should be obliged for advice about this EK2. I am not sure if it is genuine or a well made copy.

Carboot 15th August - Another lucky find

HI all

I AM having a REALLY good few weeks at the carboots :)

What with the books and shell casing just recently I didn't think my luck would continue to hold. But it has :D

I caught sight of the clip in the middle of a display and immediately noticed that the cartridges in the LE clip weren't 303's. They looked more like 7.92's and, on checking the headstamps, found them all to be WW2 dated.

I asked how much.

£1

I haggled a bit

Got them for 75p :D :D

LE clip and 5 WW2 dated German 7.92mm's. Not bad :)

Going on the luck I have had recently you'd think I would at least win the sodding lottery.....not so much as a tenner !

Oh well......can't win 'em all.
