Some more Imperial pics/postcards

Guys,

I have started to pick up the better quality prints as I think the poorly stored items are being lost forever.

I am trying to look out for unusual badges etc, it is not easy as this is not my bag!

Regards

jock:)

Question about Edelweiss badges on visor caps

Hey guys, I’m a little confused about the nature of Edelweiss attachments on visor caps. At first I was under the impression that the only men who wore Edelweiss badges were those serving as a Gebirgsjäger.

However I have seen caps of a different service with them, like the cap attached below. And I have also seen Gebirgsjäger caps without an Edelweiss badge.

The cap attached is artillery. With the Edelweiss does it mean the original owner was just an artillery man stationed in the mountains?

My original concept of a Gebirgsjäger was that it was simply a "Mountain troop". But now I’m not really clear on the job of an actual Gebirgsjäger. For example, how would a Gebirgsjäger differ from say, a regular infantry man stationed in the mountains. (Or did white piped caps never have Edelweiss??)

Thanks for any help clarifying, guys.

Question Gray armband? Anyone know what this was for?

Had someone ask me what this gray armband was for? Looks just like a regular one, but gray. Appears to be original in every way.

Binoculars & War Relics list

1st I want to thank this site for posting lists of manufactures and their codes and names. I have 3 pairs of german WW2 issue binocs and could not find imfo on 1 of them. But I did with the helpof this site. I still dont have a camera, but here is the imfo on 1 pair I had trouble with.
Oigee/Berlin
Dieginglass
6×20
2601
M H/6400
and it seems the frame is brass, has 1 outside eye cup missing.
Any comments always appreciated, thanks in advance.

Regimentals / double decal Combat Police M35

I just had a look at Regimentals website. They have stopped putting prices on all of their helmets, some helmets are marked as ‘price on request’. I was wondering what benefit this could have? I have never encountered this before and was wondering if anyone could tell me if they have? I was interested in a helmet on the site and have submitted an enquiry. I also noticed that they now endorse the XR Facts certificate, so I also asked them if all their helmets are submitted to the test before sale? Could this be something to do with the ‘price on request’ ? This is the helmet I have asked about. What sort of price do you reckon they will come back to me with for this one. I will start the bidding at…£1450:D Any guesses gents?
