Hi,

Have a question here on this Ausweis: This would entitle the ausweis holder to patrol in the streets? guard duty for the firm?

early Kriegsgefangenen Ausweis 1939

Hi,

This is a very early Kriegsgefangenen Ausweis from just about the end of the Polish campaign.

I think the early apples stamp is interesting, but can not make sense of it…

Need help! “Elefantenordnen” pin

Hi all , I picked up this interesting pin today whilst rummaging through a box of junk at my local flea market.
I had never heard of the order of the elephant or seen any images of it but this little pin just seemed to speak to me so i took a chance and bought it.
So when i got home i hit the internet and finally found some information although the information is a little scarce it made for interesting reading.
The order came about in 1921 and was awarded to everyone who had served for Germany in it's colonies during the 1st world war in total there were 8500 recipients.
Has anyone else ever heard of this or even better does anybody have 1 that i can compare mine too?
On the militaria lexikon it says that well known fakes can be I.D'd by the R and I in Afrika not lining up under the knot of the ribbon the picture the have of one is a fake so i still have no picture reference to go by.
I'll post the link to the lexikon for you to have a look at and will also post a few of the pin that i purchased today.(The best I could do with my camera sorry)
I hope I have struck lucky! LOL
Thanks in advance for taking a look, for any further information and for any comments.

1945 Silver Star

Hi all,

Wanted to share this WW2 Silver Star which was awarded to a Chinese officer who was fighting with the allies against the Japanese in opening the Burma Road.

Its condition due to it being kept, in hiding, in Communist China for 60 years…

Canadian MkII Helmet, Last day of digging in Normandy for a while…

Well yesterday was my last full day of digging on the Normandy Battlefields for quite a while, after six and a half years of living in Normandy we are leaving to move back to England next week.

It was a good day, in the first hour I uncovered a MkII Canadian Helmet, a lot of Greatcoat buttons, and RAF button, and a lot of equipment buckles, spoon, etc…

Steve cool militaria

A new and welcomed addition to the Collection. Gendarmerie Meister Tunic Wurzburg

Well, after developing a very extensive collection of Polizei insignia, I finally took the plunge and purchased a tunic. Here it is for your enjoyment. BTW, the ribbon bar, wound badge, and sports badge did not come with it, I just added those to jazz it up a little. I have other items in mind for those loops that are not yet in my possession.

Your comments are more than welcome.

-Martin

P.S. my highest regards for the improvements to the forum. It looks quite amazing and I have deep thanks for the time invested.
