Need help! Luftwaffe Lapel Pin: Opinions Please

Hey, all. I recently found this piece (a lapel pin I believe) in storage. I got it a long while back when I was younger and was just looking for a little feedback as I think I am going to try to sell it.
I almost certain that it's authentic, however it's a little odd in that the eagle is facing in the opposite of the usual direction. It's also salty and has some cracks as seen in the photos.
Anyone have any thoughts on this piece or what to sell it for? (very cheap I am thinking.) I'm also wondering what the metal is (zinc or kriegsmetall?) and if maybe this is an earlier piece because of the direction the eagle is facing?

Any info or feedback is greatly appreciated!

Best,
Adam

Wanted: Seeking coinage of WWII Europe

Hello everyone. I just recently started creating a collection of coins from WWII Europe. I am starting pre war 30's to 46. I have been collecting coins for over twenty-five years and I have always been interested in WWI and WWII. I have a small collection of WWII memorabilia (mostly souvenirs brought back by family members after the war), but I wanted to create this war time coinage collection to sort of tell the story in numismatic terms. In this era of coinage base metals changed rapidly due to shortages, and errors in the coins themselves were more prevalent due to the lack of useable dies since these die materials were harder metals needed for the war effort. The same was true in the states, but we only had one countries coins around and not twenty different sets from various countries. Not to mention the camp money and other private tokens that made their way about.

Right now I'm looking for coinage from Germany, France (Vichy), Austria and Italy for years 1930-1946. I'm not looking for slabbed coins or any ultra rare stuff. I know many here are diggers and dig this stuff up all the time. I would like to see readable mint marks and dates at the least. Thanks for looking and let me know what you have... I'm not rich so don't tell me you have a coin for sell for 10K or some mess like that... please serious folks only.

WWI German Memorial Bronze Plaque

It has been a while since I posted, so I thought that I would share this piece - direct from Germany through a friend. I believe it to be a depiction of "Germania" in mourning. The piece is in bronze, measures 11 in. x 19 in. It weighs approximately 20 lbs.

Of interest is the damage to the face of the piece; maybe it is just my active imagination working overtime, but it looks like a bullet strike. Your thoughts? I am considering removing the modern epoxy if I can do so without altering or damaging the piece further.

As you can see from the reverse shots, it was once mounted on some type of base. Since there is no script or text on this piece, I believe it was once part of a larger memorial...perhaps a section of a paneled base?

What do you guys think...private grave marker or public memorial?

Question Seeking Impressions of This Helmet

Hello All,

I am new to this forum, I have a some headgear lying around and thought I might throw it out there for conversation. I obtained this helmet about four or five years ago. It is marked "63" on the liner. No chinstrap, stamped "1476" on the shell. No evidence of a decal that I can see. Nice mosaic of colors, basket well affixed and nice patina and oxidation along the wire and inside the helmet. Anyway, thoughts, impressions, comments are welcome.

For sale: SS Runic Collar Tab and Sleeve Eagle

Original and scarce type Runic collar tab. Both the collar tab and sleeve eagle were brought back by the same US soldier. Unfortunately, the poor storeage led the dye to bleed into the machine embroidery. I do not have the time or patience to remove the dye with a toothpick dabbed in bleach.

Price for both is $650.00
