Effect of WW1- 4 portraits of a Tommy, RE.

I think these speak for themselves?

Wish I knew who he was.

Off shoot of main display - USAAF air gunnery range

Hi all

Thought I’d post this up separately to my main collection as I have just added stuff to the display and tidied it up a bit :D

The notes have been added more to remind me where I found them more than give anyone who looks at them information :D :D :D

I have lined the undamaged 50’s up which I think makes them look much more impressive. I’ve also tidied the wing nuts up a bit and brought stuff forward a tad.

I think this mini display is looking good :D :D

Hope you like it.

Steve T

Question SA Armband

HI,

I received today this SA armband, all looks fine to me and it seems to be a unissued example.

But it still exhale a brand new cloth scent, it's normal to a 70 years old cloth piece?

There is another red flag in this armband?

White field and white thread don't glows under UV light, red cloth and red thread burns like cotton without synthetics elements.

Thanks,

Ricardo

Spange query.

I have seen this spange for sale, but the seller has tried selling fakes as well as good items to me in the past, so I need some advice (apart from run!). I assume it is for EK1 but have not seen the hook part of the clast before. The pin has what looks like 20 or 21 on it, but I understand they are not EK1 spange makers. I can’t see any obvious casting marks, but the wing angle from the head is not what I am used to seeing. Is it missing detail?? Price of $100 should also be a warning.

Important! ArmyGasMasks.com

I've always had my doubts about this website due to the highly overpriced items and the fact that whoever running the website is using pictures lifted from other internet sources including past ebay auctions. I've just been told by another collector that he ordered a German GM-30 Type Gas Mask and ended up getting sent a very common Russian GP5 Civilian Gas Mask. I think that anyone who is thinking about buying anything from this website should think again and look somewhere else, the website might be fancy and look have loads of information. But if whoever is running it isnt a con-man, they are clearly a rip off merchant trying to get money from in-experienced collectors. My own personal guess at how he does it is that he waits for someone to buy one of the masks thats for sale (which isnt actually in his possession) then goes onto ebay or another site and buys an identical mask at a fraction of what hes charging to send to the buyer. Hence the reason I've heard that postage takes longer than a week. notcool

Check it out for yourself, but dont be tempted!

Request on info!

Hi all!

I would like to ask on possible info about L.F. Woodgate A.G. 260951. I think that since he falls into the block of 1-294000, he must have been an RASC guy. Any more info would be really welcome!

Thanks in advance!

Regards, Giorgos
