Brothers meet in India after four years

thease are pics of my uncle jimmy who recently passed away,
he was one of the most funny men who i ever known, he used to tell me the stories (when i asked him to) about the time he spent in the jungle and how a tiger terrorised a village, so uncle jimmy and his mates decided to" help them out" after they decided who would have what part of the tiger ie: tail, paw, teeth they decided to put explosive under the carcase of a dead animal and wait for the tiger to turn up, eventually it did, they set the charge off and he said it blew it to millions of pieces :D and not one of the guys had anything to take as a momentum, i have recently been told that he was in the chindits, my father has given me this paper clipping what he found of him and when he met his brother after four years of not seeing him, When i used to ask Jimmy what ha served in he used to say "i was a chef in the silly squad". i was amazed what i found out what he must have went through after i found out where he must have beeni hope i have posted this in the right place if not please move it guys cool militaria
hope you find this as interesting as me :) cheers Ronnie

Royal Australian Regiment (RAR) uniform

Hey,

Bought this uniform about a year ago in a local surplus store for only $5.00. It is the Royal Australian regiment's one battalion (paratroop) uniform.

It has a few holes here and there but for $5.00 i cant complain.

Cheers-

Darren

SA Daggers………….Thoughts ?

I was wondering what everyone thought of these, They seem to have age and appropriate wear,
but are they all original ? ….I purchased them as such. Maker marks are shown and also
crossguard numbers on one of them which is interesting for anyone who may
know where it came from, or who owned it…! ?
Any criticism or comments are welcome.

Regards, Steve.

Real US Army Air Service 37th Balloon Co. patch??

Here is a supposed original balloon co. insignia that someone "won" for $384.00 recently at auction. It has the same perfectly symmetrical shape and look of many other supposed rarities that are popping up all over auction sites recently. Personally, i think it is a fanciful, worthless fake. Your thoughts?

German or Soviet keeping options open!

Guys,

My favourite today, I suppose it could be Soviet in manufacture perhaps by a PW for German consumption or by a erman PW for Soviet use or by either side serving soldiers for personal use?

I think it is German made because I got it here?

Regardless it is very well made with what looks like two coins set seemlessly in the body of the lighter which has no doubt been milled from a piece of ordnance.

I must get it working.

It look like a chain was fitted to the wick cover and retained on the body by the small milled ball joint affair but sadly is no longer there?!

Jock:)
