Came across this on the worlds most popular auction site. The selller says it is a trophy helmet brought back from Italy. The outside has been painted "Gothic Line San Pietro-Hill-810 3rdBn. 133rd. Inf. Regt. 34TH. "Red Bull" Inf Div. I dont know what to make of it to be honest, just thought it was very interesting.Very rare if its not a fake. I have done a little bit of research and The 34th "Red Bull" Infantry Division did fight on the Gothic Line in Italy 1944….
hey guys, i would appreciate it if someone who knows could tell me what exactly this is. its made out of wood and it smells pretty old. it looks like it is named on the inside as well. any ideas?
well, its time for the next round of threads showing the unknown and interesting things in my collection. this is an arbeitsbuch i got last summer while living in berlin. i bought it at a flea market from a man who claimed to be the nephew of the owner of the book. he also had about 20 unopened letters that were written by the owner and i sure am kicking myself now for not buying them as well. i only happened to have 10 euro on me and it cost me 8, while he wanted another 14 for the letters.
anyway, here it is. i also found some bus passes dated within 1949, so its interesting to see those plus the denazification of most of the book. he kept this thing even after the war to use.
