Hitler’s FHQu Felsennest France 1940

I picked up an original Heinrich Hoffmann photo from the same roll of film as No. 19 photo in LUCKYSTRIKE’s latest posting on a visit to the site.
I am putting up the photo and a list of the individuals I have Identified so far.. It’s taken me 25 years to solve the problem of where this photo was taken.
Front and back photo and a copy of a woman who was with the photo inside a copy of Mein Kampf.
I like to keep the items together.
anyway for your perusal.. Oh and if anyone knows who no. 21 is or if I have any of the individuals wrong please feel free to correct me.:D

Sun 30th May-Day Dig At Us Dump.

Can all the lads make Sunday 30th May for a day dig on the dump site? If yes can pencil it in. Might be good idea to have one of those barbecues brought along so some grub can be cooked up. Sarah the wife might be joining me too which will be a laugh! Would be great if we can get good team again and find some more goodies! Regards, Tim.

how to ID a small , med or large M56 Stalhelm by photos

here’s a quick way to spot a large shell size East German M56 helmet if it has a net on it

on small to medium sized shells the net will easily fit over the shell and clip around the edge as shown

if it’s a large shell or size III the net will be too tight to fit over the area on the side where it curves as shown and one of the metal clips will need to be removed, too tight on a size III shell

since sometimes the helmets have been repainted or the stampings are not clear enough to read the original markings

you can also tell by the measurements, a size III should be around 12.5″ from front to back of the visor and about 6″ tall

medium shells or size II are around 12″ from front to back and 5 3/4″ tall

anything smaller is a size I shell [small]

Question Hey Ade

I have a question for you...I guess you could call this a Tech question...

There is a Military Show coming up here in June. How about instead of me blowing a wad of dough on some faked Third Reich Military, I fly you over here for the weekend, you point out the good stuff for me...and I fly you home?

I bet I save a bundle.

:D

Well its official I'm addicted. I thought Id be ok after my first one at lest for a little while but I just couldn't resist. This is my latest a Rudolf Watchtler & Lange. I feel pretty good about the authenticity but as always would like you guys to verify what I think I already know. I will make sure my next Iron Cross related purchase is a book so I dont have to keep bugging you guys.
thanks very much

Reichs-Luftschutzbund 1st Model Buckle - Opinions?

Hi Everyone,
Came across this Reichs - Luftschutz 1st Model Buckel on offer. I’m interested - never seen one before, to my untrained eye the front detail looks sharp enough. The reverse detail however looks to me much too soft, for me to buy it. Although the seller give four weeks right of return. What are members opinions kosher or junk?
These are the only two pictures I have.
Cheers
