German combat low boots with hobnails

Hi Everyone
Please have a look on these boots,They are from Bulgaria,The seller said they are authentic German WWII combat low boots. But I don’t know for what troop. There are markers WA1940 and some unclear numbers on the soles.

Should I clean them or just keep them as they stand? What conditioner should I use, thanks again.

Any suggestion & comment will be appreciated.:)

Kevin

Ask questions,

The infamous Dr. Franke

I quite like Dr. Franke und Co. K.G. (Lüdenscheid) as perhaps like Berg und Nolte AG (Lüdenscheid), they seemed on occasions to be remarkably free spirited to regulations relating to NSDAP buckle manufacturers. That is bless them, a euphemism for totally ignoring them !

It is quite unusual (I think) to see a one piece die stamped aluminium RAD buckle (non RZM of course), without a date. Perhaps I am wrong.

Here are images of a truly dreadful, tired and distressed condition RAD by The Doctor and of course, without a date.

Does any person on the forum have a Franke RAD to show ?

Regards,

David

Need help! Battle Sites near West Wall??

Hello,

I am planning a round trip of Europe, and will possibly be doing some archaeology near the West Wall (German/Belgian Border)

I have been having difficulty finding places where there have been battles there, and since I am from Canada, I don't want to come back from Europe empty handed.notcool

It would be greatly appreciated if I could possibly get information about areas that will most likely have good relics (a.k.a something other than shrapnel, etc.)

Thanks!!;):D

Need help! messed with SS reverse decal helmet

Hi Guys,

im in a bit of a spot with this lid, and im not sure if i want to keep hold of it?

its been messed with, multiple layers of paint have been stripped to reveal a very tired ss decal, then someone has seen fit to try and bring a little depth to it with a felt tip pen/ marker.

can this mess be cleaned up or is it a case of leaving it as is, its been through the mill as it is, but your thought and comments will be welcome as allways.

cheers guys ,

p.s im afraid my camera is not fantastic so these are the best i can do for now
