RAF Emergency Flying Ration tins

Continuing today theme of ration tins. Here are two more from my collection.

Shown here are the earlier and later versions of the RAF Emergency Flying ration tins. The earlier issue is "AM" (Air Ministry) marked while the later one is Broad Arrow marked like much aircrew gear late in the war.

As you can see, the AM marked one is dated "5/44".

Cheers, Ade.

Adolf Hitler 1933 badge

First of all I just want to say hello to everybody as I’m new to this site.

Yesterday whilst in London I visited a militaria shop and purchased two badges. I purchased a silver zinc wound badge (with the number 30 engraved on the back) for £65.00, and a Adolf Hitler 1933 party badge for £95.00. The dealer is very reputable and had many fantastic items in stock, so I didnt hesitate purchasing the badges.

However, as I am new in collecting, I did some research on the A. H badge and from what I have read it appears to be a fake.

Has anybody here found any definate news on the history of this badge? I have included some pictures, but I apologise if they are not the best quality.

And sorry, this appears to be a topic that creeps up time and time again.

Thanks guys.

Need help! A quick question

A quick question guys, does electrolyses remove the paint?

Need help! Greatcoat Cape, UK 1902-54; who wore it?

Hi all,
Took a small gamble on these two for £50, i think they are worth it, but I wasn’t sure of the item on the left;

The ID of the blue Levee Dress Greatcoat Cape has me stumped. Garter order buttons with King’s Crowns x4, black lining, no labels whatsoever:

Seller said it was for a Miltary Knight of Windsor (I don’t think he is right)?
1901 regulations mention 3 and 5 button versions, but not 4. Also says black lining = Inspector of Military Schools?
Net came up with garter buttons for Royal Household Staff?
My dad (ex-Guards) reckoned it was a Royal Footman’s?

Anyone know what it is- I would dearly like to nail this one?

Thanks,
Jim.

[The No.2 tunic is cold war, Ox & Bucks Light Infantry/ Green Jackets, with bullion S/Sgt and Para badges, named. The medal ribbons are Korea, Korea UN, GS Borneo, Kenya Mau-Mau, GS unknown, Cyprus UN, and LSGC.]

My last trommelhaken drum hanger for sale.

Tobruk Badge

does anybody know for definite the markings on unissued badges ? apart from the standard attributable personnel number and the 800 silver content number on issued badges, examples exist with hard to decipher markings, eg: A.S CO ?, Ag 800 ?, A&S CO, A.800 ? A.SCO ? and whatever permutation your brain decides upon !

More Newspapers.

Guys,

Some more of these papers from a differen’t source.

I haven’t sorted through them so just the covers for now.

Still some nice uncommon photos.

Jock:)
