British Ministry of Food dried milk tin

Another one from my collection of ration tins.

Not a military issue tin this time, but one from the Home Front. Powered instant milk was imported during the war from the USA and was specially intended for nursing mothers with young children. Note the text on the side.

Cheers, Ade.

British Biscuit ration tin

This large 1944 dated tin of biscuits formed part of the "Compo" or Composite Rations.

The Maker "H&P" is the well know British biscuit maker, Huntly & Palmer. Packed in October 1944. The top has a large round lid.

Cheers, Ade.

British Cigarette ration tins

Some more of my ration tin collection.

Smoking was very popular in WW2 and cigarettes were considered a vital part of the rations.

First we have the larger sized tin, which is the same size as the boiled sweets tin I showed in another thread.

British Horlicks tablets “ration” tin

Hi Guys, this one, while strictly speaking is not a "ration tin" as such, but it is more a clever bit of marketing by the makers of Horlicks ;)

There also exists a version with "as supplied to the ARP".

But it is still a nice wartime tin in good condition.

I don’t think you can buy Horlicks tablets today, but I remember them as a kid in the 1960’s.

Cheers, Ade.

My Third Reich Items

Over the past while I've built up this little collection of TR items, because I have pretty much no interest in the subject I'm planning on selling them but I'm clueless to how much they are actually worth. All of them apart from the HVD Brussel badge have been previously identified as genuine on this site, so whats the opinions on the HVD badge?

Thanks in advance cool militaria
