Hi Guys,

I need some help with this medal, i'm not shure if it is a legit one.

it is a "Gruben-Erinnerungsabzeichen" (dedicted to the mine workers). Can someone help me with confirming if it is a original one? Thanks.

only thing missing is the yellow/black/white ribbon.

Hi All.
I enlisted in the new Pathfinder team "Poisk".
Our main task - to search for the remains unburied soldiers.
Our activities under the control of state institutions.
Last weekend we had our first work.
So far, the result-0, the soldiers were not found, then a few photos

Here is a nice award order document for Obersturmbannfuhrer Wilhelm Breimaier of the 7th SS Prinz Eugen Division. This is not the document he would have rather, but it is the order for him to recieve a medal. Some very cool stuff here. For instance, there is a section of the document to indicate if the soldier is Croatian or German. Our man Wilhelm is a German.

Zvonimir Medal with Oak leaves (medal received)

Hi all

Some of you may recall a year or two back that I found a 25lber base ejecting smoke round on an old gunnery range. Then, six months later I found another at the same range.

Some of you may also have seen that I found a 25lber case at the carboot this weekend and bought it for £3.

The fuse cap on the 25 lb projectile is dated 1943. (I have included a picture showing the projectile is TOTALLY empty and inert, to avoid calls of 'OH MY GOD STEVE THAT THING IS LIVVVVEEEE !!!' :D :D :D It isn't. It contains no explosive what-so-ever).

The headstamp on the 25 lber case is 1943.

So I wondered......

I wondered if they would still fit together......

One of them didn't fit at all. The rust had increased it's diameter too much. However, the other one I had spent a couple of hours chipping the rust off and then spraying it with a clear varnish to prevent further rusting. With a bit of jiggling round.....it did indeed fit !

I don't think it looks too bad at all.

I think I'll leave it like this rather than completely restore the projectile. Makes it more of a talking point I think.

But what a find.......not only finding 2 of the projectiles, but then finding a casing at the carboot.

Re-united after 67 years.
