Need help! RAD uniforms

I have these photos that my grandfather brought back from the war. Maybe someone can help me identify the units and maybe where they were stationed. I would like to know if anyone has information on the group photo with the soldiers in black uniforms and why does the one soldier have a black armband on top of his other armband?

Front of Russia

Tovarisch Boyesh;

I apologize if this is the wrong place to post this, but…

I placed an order in early November, 2009, with Alexey Babushkin, at Front of Russia. I ordered only three items, and I gave very specific instructions, his item numbers, and size information. I e-mailed back and forth with Mr Babushkin several times, in an effort to ensure that Mr. Babushkin knew exactly what I was ordering, what sizes I needed. I also got a date of delivery from him. He stated, at least twice that I would have my items within two months, from the date of payment.

To make a long story short, my items did not arrive by mid January, as promised. I contacted him, and only got a response about half the time, and most of those were weak assurances that my items had been shipped, and should arrive any day. I continued to e-mail Mr. Babushkin about every two weeks, and just last week, was yet again assured that my items would arrive soon.

Well, the order finally arrived today, 15 April, 2010. Unfortunately, none of it is correct. I ordered three items, and none of the items I ordered were shipped. What was shipped was, A: the wrong style, B: the wrong color, and C: the wrong size.

It was also over three months late, from what he promised as a delivery date.

Honestly, I am so angry at this vendor that I will never deal with him again!

Question Can anyone help identify this helmet?

Just wondering if anyone can help me identify this helmet. Inside the helmet there is a small single crown marking (not stamped into the metal). No other marks.

I am thinking it will be post war? and from one of the European countries that still have a Royal family - Denmark? Sweden ??

Any help would be much appreciated.

Glen

Hitler Youth Buckle Comparison of Original to Possible Fake

Hey, all. I was sent these two sets of pictures by my friend who is somewhat knowledgable about Militaria, but by no means an expert. In his opinion, the 1st steel HJ buckle (2 pics) is probably a fake due to the lack of detail on the eagle’s head and breast, compared with the apparently sharper-looking eagle on the 2nd one-piece aluminum buckle of which he had more pictures. He says he has verified this 2nd buckle as original. I can’t say I fully agree as I have not seen this buckle in person and am less knowledgable, but compared in the photos it does look a bit less detailed. Is this the sign of a fake or perhaps just a bit cruder/more worn buckle? The RZM maker’s code seems to check out but what do you guys think?

Best,
Adam

My 8-inch Howitzer Shell!

Thought id just show this photo to the members who like biggish ordnance items. This is a US 8-Inch (203mm) High Explosive Howitzer shell. Not sure if this particular example is WW2 or post war manufacture but i beleive this HE round was more or less standard for both the wartime and post war 8-inch Howitzers in the US inventory. This one contains no explosive filling and weighs around 230lbs and has been filled with concrete. As you might imagine its a devil to transport as very heavy and awkward, but once you get it on the sacktruck its no problem. Its the biggest round i have in my collection to date and dont think i would want anything bigger as the logistics and costs involved are just too much. Tim.
