If money was no object and room the one thing i would add to my militaria collection is a russian t34 tank.the more war weary looking the better.a brilliant design made rougly and quickly, and the world owes a part debt to it and its crews for helping to win the war.what would be your big purchase?
For years i passed over nice looking helmet of the m42 variety when they had an m35 like air vent ,i thought they where faked.i learned late in the day that the se factory produced these helmets.in case there are some new collectors confused by this i put the thread on.ps the m35 like air vent is outwardly embossed .
Does anyone know the purpose and origin of these containers? Color is "military green". Ca. 8-9 cm. long. For fuses? What era?
Here how they look when they are still new cool militaria
I thought it was a good idea to post here the question because if I don't remember wrong, a huge lot of such insignia was found but one forum member and collegue moderator. I never doubted these insignias, but I am curious about where the definition came from. I read often the HJ diamond was believed to be for "former HJ members in the SS".
I am not convinced by this because most of the SS were probably HJ members before and the HJ had its badges for that (and you see often SS members wearing HJ honour badges). I think that it might be more probably a patch worn for members attached or assigned to HJ units as instructors or for other assignments. What do you think?
I am being offered this jacket and want an experts opinion as I know very little about these kinds of things, Is it original or not and what value does it have? Any help is wonderful.
hi guys
i bought this luftwaffe buckle a few weeks ago. What do you think of it and do you know the maker.
thanks
regards callum.
Hi, all. Someone I don't know very well was interested in trading his unmarked Luftwaffe buckle pictured first here for my heer buckle pictured below. He describes the Luft buckle as minty and with an early drooped tail design (from 1935 he thinks.) It wouldn't be an even trade, but my heer buckle + $25 USD. I figure my buckle is worth around $75 so this would make his worth around $100? Really curious if you guys think this is a good trade or not? He's a good friend of a good friend so I believe he's honest and that it's authentic. I saw a picture online of an original buckle that looked like this and it legitimate.
Any thoughts or opinions are really appreciated.
Thanks,
Adam
