Here are some of my dug up Rounds..they date 1680s to about 1900...there are also a few other odd items in the tray including a WW1 Period condom container found at the site of a WW1 Canadian Training camp..the container is stamp 3 Merry Widows.
There is also a WW2 .50 in there somewhere.

Another exspensive helmet up on ebay uk.the name and unit number look post war.the big red cross is still shiny and the white wash is still very clean.in wartime a helmet is whitewashed as we know because its in a snowy region very cold and damp.russia comes to mind.awful weather condition in my opinion would have left a snow camo helmet in much worse condition than this.the liner in clean and fresh.imagine the sweat a medic in battle conditions would put out through his head onto the liner, ect.it feel a wrong one to me subject to further study.what do you think ,ill get the ebay number for you guys.160422451310
When I was down in New Mexico visiting my grandparents, I was talking to my grandfather who was 12 when the war started. Said that when the German left Greece when they surrendered they threw they're weapons and other explosive ordinance in the ditches alongside the roads in the area he was living in at the time, and after the Government came back in the country they took all weapons and either melted them down or sold them or used them for their army (i forget what they did with them) the Germans also parked their tanks and half tracks and other vehicles like that next to the ditches and left..My grandfather was also shot at for stealing bread one day by a German soldier. Thank god he missed every shot! I just thought I'd share this with you guys :-) George
I am trying to identify this item and I really don't know where to start besides just showing people and seeing if they recognise what it might be. I'm hoping someone here can help!
This 3-edged dagger/point has a flame design on each surface.
There is a partial skull with hair extending upward. The hand is grasping the hair. The hand is held in the "sign of the horns" position.
Above the hand is a dragon head with mouth open - and to be honest, looks like it might make a good bottle opener...
Most people who have looked at this item think that it has been removed from a larger piece, the point of severance being the hand at the wrist. It seems that something was also affixed to the back, possibly a mount as there is a small round spot of what feels like a different metal on the back of the blade section.
Even if this item is not military in origin, could someone please suggest where to try next? My thought would be that it is some sort of ritual object.
Thanks for any response!
so i was watching HBO's new miniseries, the pacific. it got me thinkin, the soldiers there and all of the other pacific islands must have left good stuff scattered all over them. i checked them out online and most of the islands are barely inhabited. have any of you done any digging in the pacific? what are the usual laws around there concerning battlefield relics? am i correct in assuming that there a lot laying around just waiting to be found?
id love to go to peleliu and dig. they were throwing empty canteens away left and right on t.v., so id like to see how accurate that is : )
