I have what appear to be two shoulder boards with the number 3 on them which I believe came from a German uniform from WWII between 1944-45. I also have two flags which I think came from a German military car. What little I could find show the one flag to be somewhat valuable. Can you help?
Guys, here are a few item I purchased from the family of the veteran yesterday. I know everything isn't relevant to this forum or the veteran but thought you'd like to see as presented. Best, Hal PS; The uniform shows the Air Defense Battalion patch but he was 1st Marines wounded at Peleliu and sent back to the states.
Does anyone know which Meyrowitz Luxor goggle model numbers were used by WWI aviation personel. I just picked up a set of No 6's in the case. I have a set of No.3's already. I tried the internet with no luck. Thought someone might have an ideas as to the period these were from.. all the best Paul
I'm looking for a new read and was wondering if anyone on here recommend a specific book regarding this topic?
As the title states, I'm interested in the subject of Gulag survivors. I am sure that there were some German POW's that survived it and wrote a book about their accounts.
Thanks guys.
Marko.
Seems to have a faint RZM bottom left wing. Hard to make out even under magnification. Thoughts gentlemen....this was a handed down piece, not purchased so be cruel if you must.
Had these for about three years and always assumed them fake. The totenkopf on the left I'm sure is fake but the gold one on the right has me stumped. I have found some WW1 insignia with a similar skull and also some WWII era Freikorps. The eagle I was always sure was a fraud as well ,but I've seen a few that were close enough to make me wonder. The Assman posted here a couple days ago made me dig it out and post it . These werent bought so don't be afraid to hurt my feelings, hell I always thought they were frauds anyway. No markings anywhere, I've been all over them under heavy magnification.
is it real, about what is its value, should i look into possible restoration? it has no liner,a finger painted peace sign on top and a few yellow crayon looking lines. it is marked EF66 ...20706..7. it has classic party/police decals.name inside is"H.Dammann".also if anyone could trace this name i would like to see if the family would like to have it back as its their heritage after all....
Hi here is more pictures, but im not sure if there are from before 1945 or post 45 PRL army? Can you let me know?
Among the political org. belts I have there is one which puzzles me. It’ s obviously a period belt. it’s brown with slight wrinkling to the surface, it has obviously carried something heavy on a D ring in the middle where the small of one’s back would be because this area is slightly stretched downward and the inner region is darkened with sweat/grime. It has the usual nickel r4iveted buckle catch and the tongue is so stitched so that the stitching doesn’t show on the outside. The tongue has an RZM stamped within a double circle but it is also stamped M7/36 below the RZM stamp. Any ideas?
