Hey all! First off I would like to say to hi! Secondly I am posting this because I have a question pertaining to a Japanese item in my collection. I am confident that this is ww2, and f course Japanese. As it was brought back by a vet I know. Furthermore it is about 6 inches wide and the length is like 5. inches. I am not sure f the exact size as i dont have it in my hands current. SO basically I would love to know what you all think about it, what you think it is, and possibly what it is worth? Thanks all!
hello,
i have a chance to buy this set.
info
The skull is marked M1/122 and the eagle M1/41 and both are RZM marked.
thanks for the help again.

Hello everyone,
I am new to the site having been searching for some information on a bayonet that I purchased in a yard sale.
It appears to be the Seitengewehr 98/05 variation from WWI. It was manufactured by SCHTEL & SACHS in Schwienfurt in 1918. It has has King Ludwig (Bavaria) markings on the back of the blade and on the butt of the bayonet. Oddly enough it has a clear plastic type handle with a 1930's type photo underneath on one side.
I am curious if anyone knows about this type of handle or might it have been modified at a later date by a German soldier.
Here I will show what I have seen in one collection in Russia.
The cloth is in khaki color, the thread is more white than on the Tropical type eagle. On the picture for comparition. I've never seen this before and never heard about the consisting pieces. No doubts it's a original piece, but in strange color

Hi guys,
I just came across some old photos I took of various German armoured SdKfz. I've built over the years and thought I'd share:
Pzkpfw. V Panther Ausf. A- winter camouflage
Pzkpfw. VI Tiger Ausf. E- winter camouflage
Sdkfz. 164 Hornisse/ Nashorn- winter camouflage
Sdkfz. 167 Sturmgeschütz IV- summer camouflage
Some details:
Zimmerit- the Panther came with this anti-magnetic mine coating moulded in (so not terribly good), but I added it using putty to the Sturmgeschütz myself- making it broken and such to show field damage.
Schürten- in virtually ever photo I've ever seen of a vehicle in the field, at least one of these standoff plates is missing, so I cut off a few on the Panther and Sturmgeschütz.
Snow- obviously in the field snow gets stuck in tracks and in various other places, so a strategic application of white putty, allowed to begin drying then pushed about to 'crumble' makes some decent caked snow.
Whitewash- since winter camouflage was applied over the usual summer paint, I did the same: painting the models first with RAL7028 Dunkelgelb, then over nearly drybrushing with flat white, purposely making it messy and avoiding markings; Dirt (Sturmgeschütz)- just dry brushing with flat medium light brown paint.
Soot- carbon paper provides actual soot, so rubbing a bit on fingers and touching the model in various places, rubbing it with clean fingers and cotton swabs and voila- a dirty vehicle (it's particularly good for gun muzzles).
Hello! I wonder if any good soul can help me with this one. Is it a original or a good fake? Thanks.
/Mike
