Hi Guys,
This M48, is all standard and another nice M1 clone.
But my question for my fellow collectors is this.
Can anybody tell me what the B stands for?
I have other types like this with Sg on the front, but never one with a B. I know it's civil defence not infantry issue.....
Hoping someone can help me on this one !:)
Cheers

Hi Guy's
Here is my latest post.....
The liner and steel shell are of different dates, and the liner was totally unissued from what i can tell, and i glad it is the earlier type.
I believe these helmets were used by the French forces in VN.
Overall a nice M1 inspired helmet.... Viva la France!!!

I stumbled across this place whilst passing through north devon.I dont have many pics but you can view on here websitemailto:info@cobbatoncombat.co.uk
This English pith helmet i have has the Heer metal insignia attached. I acquired the helmet some yrs ago at an old peoples jumble sale held at their nursing home, the pith helmet is by Walker, Ashworth and Linney Ltd Denton. It has the paper tag still attached behind the leather liner and is dated 1941 and a war dept arrow .It has a silver foil interior and the pins of the insignia are three pronged,it is a very nice example with leather chin strap. I did loosen the pins to see if there was any colour differance underneath and the is its slightly darker, would the german troops use our pith helmets in such a way,as i have only seen one photo of a number of german infantry, wearing something very similar. I only paid £20 for it but it was about 5yrs ago ,any info would be useful ps the photo i saw showed this type of helmet and not the german issue kind.
Hello:
I have this small bottle that was found in the city portion
of Stalingrad when some digging was done for construction.
It is bakelite, approx. 2 1/2 by 2 1/2 inches (not counting
the cap). The bottom is marked with the manufacturers
code "acb" in circle on one side and "1941" in a circle on
the opposite side.
At first I though it might be an oil bottle for a crew
served weapon (MG-34) but I saw where a Militaria dealer
in Europe had one for sale and he said it a De-contamination
bottle. I would imagine it was to be used to clean off or
neutralize gas or other agents.
Does anybody actually know what this was used for and
was it carried in the MG's "tool box". Any help would be
appreciated.
Thanks,
Bob
I have inherited some militaria, and have a number of 3rd Reich cloth insignia. Trying to identify a few things: white silk with bronze oak wreath with sword over swastika? black silk with gold eagle with swastika overlaid, feathers face down? RAD arm patch spade has 211 over 4, what does this signify? See image. Thanks
Here are some badges and a green patch, and a medal of some sort. Anyone know what they are for?
