Hi Guys, yet more sad news with the passing of another Arnhem Veteran that I had the priviledge to know.
Geoff van Rijssel served with the XXI in North Africa, Italy, Holland and Norway.
Those of you that have seen the film "Their's is the Glory" will recognise the name as Geoff played himself in the film.
I met Geoff several times at the reunions over the years.
RIP.
Cheers, Ade.

Would this Soviet Navy buckle have been a World War II issue or post-war?
I purchased this SS-Sturmmann M42 Field Blouse "Reichsfuhrer"roughly 8 years ago from an Antique Arms dealer. Nothing glows under a blacklight. All the SS insignia appears to be authentic. The "Reichsfuhrer-SS" cuff title has the correct "salt and pepper" weave with an even row of small circular dots along the edge.
Please take a look at the photos, let me know what you think!
Does anyone have any photos of the Batalion Strzelcow Podhalanskich which was part of the 1st Armd Div? After the tunic thread i started researching this unit a bit more. I am especially after photos of the batalion in their berets. I have read many books saying that they wore Scotish berets from 1941 till 1944 when they changed to the standard British khaki beret.
What im curious at if in 1944 they wore the General Service beret or the khaki beret with brown leather sweat band....
Brauchen Sie diese in Silber kann jemand helfen?
