Need help! Mystery photo

I found these photos in my deceased grandmother's photo album. I am not sure of who she knew in the photo.

A little history on her family. Her mother and father both immigrated to the US from Zuromin Poland in the early 1890s before they were married. Most of their immediate family immigrated as well. Zuromin was in the Russian partition of Poland of that time, but these photos don't look Russian to me. Her grandfather never immigrated, and was a Captain in the military, presumably the Russian army. (I have posted his photos in the Imperial Russian/PreWWI part if this forum).

Perhaps this was of a cousin or friend of the family.

Can anyone provide any light on these photos? I am estimating them to be of WWI era, but I am not sure. The helmets look Prussian/German to me.

From Finnish Lappland

Found these from Lapland in 1993. Lots of another stuff too. Artillery shells, handgranades, anything that army would need. Germans blow up all their depos when they were retreating to Norway. I don't know if it blew up during fighting or did Germans blew it up themselves. It was, and still is a military area, so we were trespassing and weren't there a long time. There were five of us and everyone grab some little memento and then we left quite quicly.;)

My Summer project

Hi,
does any modeler here do winter and summer projects ?, I have
Made my winter ones and now planning my summer one.
It will be a German Eagle and Swastika, i got the idea from the thread of the train eagle, i think these are no easy to come by so i am making this first in plaster for the plug,. Once i have carved the plug i will make the mould from fibreglass, the actual eagls and swas, will be of solid resin, the colour is going to be bronze.
It is 24" wing span so a good size, It will make a good gap filler
until one comes along. At the moment all i have done is drawn
the tempate, I will let you know how it goes. The wings were expanded on the template thats why it looks odd.

Question Polish Russian Officer ~1880’s-1904

My great great grandfather, Josef Szumlinski, was said to be a Captain in the Army. We have assumed it was the Russian Army, since he lived in Zuromin and Radzanow, towns in the Polish part of Russia in the time period of 1835 (appx. year of his birth) and 1904, the year he died in Radzanow.

Can anyone confirm this from these photographs of him?

I would like to find out more about his service during this time period. Do any records exist?

Camouflage netting

Tovarischi;

Does anyone have any pictures of camouflage being used for both individuals, or equipment? What I am looking for is primarily netting, but also camouflage tarps. Not the issue uniforms, or coveralls.
