Question U.S., W.W.II Captains Uniform Help Needed

Hello,

I would like to ask if there is anyone here that could lend a hand in identifying a captains uniform of the U.S. 84th Infantry Division during W.W.II. I believe I have the patches correctly identified but I also need help with the award ribbons. I have pictures but don't want to clutter the forum with them so, if anyone can help, please send me your e-mail address and I will send the pictures.

Thanks > spicks75@comcast.net

Set for sale: Bequest: Third Reich Authentic Items for Sale (medals, iron cross, wound badge, etc.)

I received many items from the German Third Reich as bequest. It comes from my grand father who went to Germany during WWII. He was Caporal in the Canadian Army. I will keep his own medals as souvenirs but i’m not interrested in keeping the Germans one. I would prefer to sell all the items in one set but i’m open to discutions.
See all 4 pictures for the complete list of items.

Please contact me, if you wish to have more information, see more pictures or make an offer.

Thanks,

Myriam ( I’m located in Canada, Québec)

Need Info on Polish RAF Pilot “FRANCISZEK LONGAWA”

In search for some information on my Grandfather (FRANCISZEK LONGAWA) I stumbled up -on this cool website. So I tought I tell you guys what I know, and share with you what I have so far, maybee someone in here can help in finding some more information about my grandfather.

From what I know, he was a Pilot that flew the Lancaster Bombers in the RAF 305 Division. He also carried french documents at that time. (Having French Documents saved his life after he was shot down over england and crashed his plane, he survived the crash and ended up in a german occupied hospital, If he had Polish papers they would of killed him right away.)
I have a page from a German Newspaper of him and a woman named Sabina Filater. I have no idea what it says as I don't speak German. I also have an article from the Polish newspaper that pretty much tells his story in Polish.

The picture of him and the woman is the same one found in the German Newspaper. It appears that the article has been written in 01/18/1945. Is anyone able to translate the German Article for me?

The common generic name given to all badges of this type is a "tinnie", which is a name given by US collectors. Really, we shoud be calling these by their more correct German designation of a Fest- und Tagungsabzeichen (Festivity and Badge for the Day) which was phrased an Erinnerungsabzeichen.

Cheers, Ade.
