I have a 1942 U.S. Navy dog tag that appears to be made of silver. It makes the same sound as a silver dollar when dropped on the table.

Does anyone know if these were ever made of silver?

Also, has anyone ever seen one with an etched fingerprint on the back?

Once again, I'm back here requesting the assistance of those far more experienced in this field than myself. I've come across this Luftwaffe stahlhelm and would like to buy it, if all is good. The seller hasn't given any info about this at all, so it's made things difficult for me to look into- from what I can tell, it's an M40? I personally would say that the decal looks good just because the wear and discolouration seems to fit right in with the condition of the rest of the helmet, though I'm going to request a close-up. I have no idea about the paint on the helmet as I've not come across any photos of similar examples.
Finally, how much in your opinions should this helmet be worth? To me it looks like a nice piece and a rare opportunity for me to own a good example of a German helmet. I've wanted one for years and only now can start affording it!
I appreciate any info here.

Hello all. New to this board and glad to find it. A friend of mine just purchased a cap and we are trying to figure it out. It has red piping and a Luftwaffe eagle. The buttons in front snap not loop. The side of the cap has two small holes where it appears to have had a emblem of some sort. It is marked K-1448 on the inside. Does anyone know what this is?

this daf cap is in fab condition.

daf insignia rzm marked to the rear and all prongs intact.

inside still has the paper label with the size.
