Question Focke-Wulf Ta 152C

Hello all!

I was wondering, how many rounds does the cannon on the Ta 152C has? I know that the wing root cannons on the Fw 190D Dora has 250 rounds. Does the Ta 152C carry less than that per gun?

Research into some papers - any help

Hi,

Quite recently i picked up another EK2 to add to the collection. I was lucky in the fact this particular cross came with its original citation, plus some other paperwork relating to the manner of events surrounding the award. There is, from what i can gather, a small war diary, a letter home to the Father of the recipient and so on.

My German is very limited, so i need some help with the interpretation, if possible. The holder of the 'cross' was a soldier named, Paul Schafer. I understand his regiment to have been, Grenadier 226/II, part of the revamped 79th infantry division between 1942 - 43, under the command at that time of, Major General Heinrich Kreipe.

My research into this soldier's regiment, Grenadier 226/II has now hit a ''brick wall''. So any more info here also, would be a great help.

I can post some pics later if required.

Best regards

Zable.

My little baby!! :-(

Morning guys, sorry I've been away for a few days!

My little baby - Harry, who's 6 months old, was rushed into hospital early hours Friday morning. He was gravely ill, and was diagnosed with menigitis and scepticimia! The staff at Whiston wasted no time in getting to work on our baby. He was immediately given antibiotics, seditives, and put onto the ventilator. He then needed a blood transfusion! He was then stablised and transfered to Alder Hey Childrens hospital intensive care unit. They were preparing us for the worst!

He managed to fight through the first 24hrs, the critical period, and was in a serious but stable condition! Over the last few days his condition has improved, and yesterday he woke up for the first time since Friday!! He even give us one of his cheeky smiles that we've so missed! His condition continues to improve.

Me and Lisa have been at the hospital since Friday, staying in parent accommadation at Alder Hey (Ronald McDonald House) Everyone there has been marvelous, and have worked wonders for our little angel!!

I will post updates when I get chance.

SS Camp Ebensee, project “Zement”

Hello friends,

I wanted to add some additional information from the region I am living. The history of the town is often described as dark, most of what happened is not allowed to be talked about. The camp, has been totally destroyed after war, and now a small village was built on it, only the old entry is still standing.
The tunnels in which the rocket parts were tested are one of the last memorys which were original to the time. Also the place were the SS baracks were standing has been destroyed. I will have to make pics myself from them when I have a little more time.

Here some info I found:

The SS Camp:
The Ebensee concentration camp was erected as a labour camp subordinate to the Mauthausen concentration camp. The first inmates arrived in Ebensee on 18 November 1943. Until the time when the construction of the first barracks was finished, the prisoners had to stay in a storehouse of the weaving mill. To cover up the existence of the camp, SS officers used the code names Kalk (limestone), Kalksteinbergwerk (limestone mine), Solvay and Zement (cement).

Purpose:
The main purpose of Ebensee was to provide slave labour for the construction of the enormous underground tunnels which were to be used for research purposes and the development of the A9/A10 Interkontinentalrakete (intercontinental rocket). The original plan had to be given up as other productions of military importance were assigned a higher priority.

Inmates:
Apart from a few exceptions, all prisoners were registered in the Mauthausen concentration camp and then transported to the subordinate camp in Ebensee. According to the camp registers, 27,278 male prisoners were incarcerated in the Ebensee camp between 18 November 1943 and 6 May 1945. About 1,500 camp inmates were transferred from Ebensee to other subcamps, e.g. to Redl-Zipf (code name Schlier) or Wels and after several months brought back to Ebensee; as a result these prisoners were registered in the camp records a second time. From January 1945 onwards, transports with masses of prisoners arrived from evacuated concentration camps and led to an unbearable situation and the complete breakdown of supply. On 23 April 1945, the number of inmates in the Ebensee camp reached its peak with 18,509 prisoners. Members of the SS command tried to bring about the death of the new arrivals most of whom were of Jewish origin and therefore to minimise the number of camp inmates.

Help Please Id

My father-in-law gave this to me before he passed on. He told me that he got it in Italy. I got some info from the sticky about the headstamps, BTW that sticky answered half my questions, thumbs up to the person that wrote it.

My question now is can anyone tell me what cal and what MG the belt was used in?
I know the big one is 50 cal. I found the case and bullet on the Oregon coast and put them togeather. And I just found out that it was not as old as I thought. (headstamp sticky again)

Question Luftwaffe ID Tag?

Hello Everyone,
I recently purchased this ID tag. I'm hoping it's real... and is my translation correct?

[L.W.SCHLA.KOMP.H.G./NR.54]
Luftwaffe Schlachterei Kompanie 'Hermann Göring' / #54

Can you give me any more information? If my translation is correct, it's a Luftwaffe ‘Hermann Goering’ Butcher Company”, like the guy holding onto the piggies in the bottom photo :D

By the way, I always wondered which is considered the top. 2 holes or 1 hole?

Help Please What Are These Luftwaffe & other Items?

Hi, a seller, a young lady has these items for sale and I do not know what all of them are. Some look like Luftwaffe awards/badges, and there are other items included, flag, armband, tinnies etc.

I have not been told a price. She does not know what they are worth, and neither do I. I would like to know what they are, and to give her a fair price for them, and not take her for a ride. :D

It appears all are original items. It is the story we have all heard, "I got them from the estate of a Veteran" She has the US soldiers dog tag and medals, uniform pieces etc also, but do not have the pics handy to post.

Any help and opinions will be welcome, and appreciated.

Regards, Steve

Need some opinions - M38 Fallschirmjaeger

Picked up this M38 Fallschirmjaeger helmet with spanner bolts and a single laquered decal about six months ago and I'm having doubts about it. The seller gave me quite a lesson about it when I bought it and he seemed convincing enough at the time, so since I had never actually held one in my hands to really get the true feel of authenticity I went ahead and bought it. The decal looks crackled but I've seen this very same look in reference books - that doesn't mean much but that's what I had to go by. Now I was told this helmet could possibly be a post war Czech - would someone have pictures of one of these post war Czech paras that I could compare it to. I would appreciate any feedback whatsoever and I've included some photos for your viewing.
Thanks,
Frank
