Question New in the field

Helllo guys, although ive been randomly collecting militaria and been a real battlefield archeologist in my younger years I would deeply appreciate some more contacts with people in the militaria bussiness. I'm an archeologist so maybe I coul be of some use in the field :) cool militaria

Question Dry cleaning & care of a uniform?

I've just got my first bit of Soviet cloth.

Attachment 44877

Attachment 44878

I believe it is circa 1975 and its a Major General's everyday uniform.

I'm planning to get it dry cleaned and the button holes need re-stitching because the last owner seemed to have been fighting a losing battle with his expanding waistline :shok_yikes:

Is it ok to smarten uniforms up this way or are they best left salty and original?

Cheers.

English Heritage “Festival of History”

One of the best multi period shows of the year, held at Kelmarsh Hall. Myself and 2nd Guards will be there. Our display will be something a little different, represently the unit out of the line being refitted. We will be having a working laundry and "Banya" sauna. We will also be taking part in the WW2 battle but as French resistance fighters.

What's On 2009 : Festival of History : Events : Days Out & Events : English Heritage

A really great day out with lots to see! I can highly recommend this show.

Cheers, Ade.

War & Peace Show, Beltring, Kent, UK.

Still the biggest event of the UK show calendar. I will be going for two days again only this year. Who else is going?

12 SS Panzer Div (real or fake)

My eye tells me this is fake, but I've not seen one of these before. What do you make of it? Thanks in advance.

WW2 US MK2 grenade booby-trap fuze types?

I recently came across a photo of a MK2 frag with a fuze described as an M1 booby trap device. It was pipe-like, with what looked like a pressure switch facing upwards... if anyone can provide any photos of MK2 booby trap fuzes with info, or link me to a good resource for them, I'd greatly appreciate it. I've searched google with no luck, which suprised me.

Researching stuff like this gets difficult.

My latest SS Wiking division photo

From the Finnish soldier (Ensio) to his parents in 1942.
