Fallschirmschützenabzeichen des Heeres - Good or Not?

Hi Guys :-)
Love this site!

Hoping that some of the resident gurus can give me some feedback on the attached Infantry Para badge (Fallschirmschützenabzeichen des Heeres), please?

It's high quality, very crisply detailed and marked as a Juncker on the obverse. I've purchased it from a respected member of Germanmilitariacollectables.com and have the option to return if not completely happy.

Important! Sincere Apologies

It would seem that I may have inadvertently caused some offence by using and Australian colloquium, those whom I may have offended have not approached me directly, but have been complaining on the Moderators forum, perhaps a simple email or PM might have helped any misunderstanding.

The saying "Just my two bobs worth, has apparently caused some to think that I am having a go at some members. This could not be further from the truth. The saying "Just my two bobs worth" has been said in this county for many years, to indicate "this is just my opinion". I believe our American cousins have a similar saying: "Just my two cents worth". The two sayings are in fact interchangeable. The term two bob, is a reference to our pre decimal two shilling coin (florin), it was also called a swy, we also had a deenar, for a shilling, a zac for a sixpence, and many others.

A website that shows many of these terms can be seen at: Slang Numismatic Terms

Once again, if anyone outside of Australia has misunderstood my manner of speech, then please accept my sincere apologies, as I would hate to have caused any misundersanding at all. I have given my undertaking not to use this term again to the Administrators. I also apologise to them if I have caused them any distress.

Kindest regards,

Grant

How about a T-72 in Nevada!

A friend of mine was 4 wheeling in the desert and came across 3 T-72s plus a command vehicle being used for photo recon training. This is the best shot of the bunch.

My SKS

Johnnies posting made me dig out my Russian SKS for a cleaning as I hadn't thought to do that for the last 6 months or so as I havn't been shooting it! This is the one that got me started down the gun collecting trail. My dad brought it home from Vietnam back in 1969 and I promptly confiscated it from him! He figuring I couldn't get ammunition for it so he didn't need to worry about me doing anything dumb! If only he knew:D:shok_yikes:

A couple of points about the rifle, I put a new sling on it as it didn't have one when my dad brought it home and it will only cycle if it is loaded with nine rounds! You load it, strip one round out and it shoots fine and dandy (though not too accurately) but if you try to shoot it with a full magazine it will sneer at you!

One for the future? Sadams Fedayene

Guys,

Not sure it qualifies as plastic? Fedayene or Fedayeen?

One that got through on my wagon.:p I had another 18 of them declared and allowed out of theatre. They were confiscated and destroyed?:weep: All brand new in stacks. So only left with this used one.

The interpreter said the writing on the side said God the leader the land/country.
A little bit close to volk fuhrer fatherland but with the Darthvader look.

I found this one at Al Zubaih(spelling may not be correct) in a grotty police station that had appauling cell blocks. I found another at Abu Al Kasibe and the other 18 in the BAATH Party HQ in Basra. I think I swapped the other with the yanks for K-Bars MREs and Camp cots (MEF), that and a few AKs Makerov etc.

Div HQ was in the rear with the gear and no souviner so it was wild for swaps. The poor yanks got cleaned out but they were happy to get their hands on stuff and my whole TAC Gp had campcots and camel backs and K-Bars.:)

Are these civil war bayonets??

Hi, Could someone help me identify these bayonets? What are they worth? Both have no stampings, the one without the ring has some stress cracks to sleave and has an aprox. 17" blade with a 3" barrel sleave. The other has a 20" blade with a 3" barrel sleave.Thank you in advance!!

50mm APC and APCR

Once upon a time I was collecting ordnance and I picked the main piece up in Austria back in 1989 or 90. I had to wait till 1994 to find the APCR component. I have since sold off most of the ordnance but still can't let go of this little beast.

NSKK Marine cocade

Hi guys

A buyer has asked for opinions on this NSKK marine cocade...

Bought this 4 years ago in an auction house, it was framed together with all sorts of KM specialty badges (all original ones). I don't doubt the authenticity of this cocade for various reasons.
