Does any one know if this is a 100% authenitc german wwii helmet? Also does anyone know what kind of helmet this is?
Thank-You
Hai,
I was wandering if any of you can tell me if this NSBO-buckle is fake or original. I ran into this item and i do not know much about buckles...at least it's hard to be sure about this item being original.
I found it at a garagesale en i could'nt leave it there.
So if any of yould could help me identifiyng this item i would be very grateful.
Well, I should say my neighbor's back yard. A few years back, shortly before I moved in, my neighbor planted a new hedge (maybe the old perv likes sunbathing in the buff :), but anyways, while digging the holes for the roots, he finds a helmet, under the helmet a skull. He now gets a tad bit worried and calls the police. They come out and call EOD and the German VdK. Turns out, it was a hasty field grave, or the guy was killed and burried when our town was bombarded before the Brits and Americans entered Geilenkirchen. My house by the way was blown up and eventually rebuilt. I cannot dig in my yard without finding tons of junk (mainly bricks, rusted chunks of iron and other trash). Alas, I have no photos, but figured this nonetheless is an interesting tidbit of info. Danny
Hello All,
Picked up two police service medals plus cases this weekend. Private purchase from the policeman's widow aged around 75 yrs, asked if she had any paperwork, unfortunately she thrown it all away, as she considered of no value - boy oh boy collecting can be frustrating at times.
Regards
this is my collection .:)
Has I said for the momment it ain't much, but lets just say I only started a little bit more then a year ago!!
The tropical helmet is a Belgian Wehrmacht helmet.
The military forces in Congo where called Weermacht in Flemish and Force Publique in French.
It is a periode in our history I fancy, has my father served there and I spend my youth in Afrika.
The other two helmets do not many explenations to you guys.
or should I say the dies to make them!
Originaly they came from Fonson Brussels who was then taken over by Indian Caps Antwerp; who stopped theyr activity's at the end of the 90 ties.
Hi all,
I found this hi resolution picture on the net recently and I am not too sure if its genuine or fake, its just that the picture quality is really good.
I'm sure you guys will enjoy picking it apart or validating it.
Thanks,
Tom.
