Hi
Were officers and officials required to wear shoulder rank insignia on their leather greatcoats or was it personal choice?
Many thanks

Here are some pictures of my Russian trench periscope. It's hard to tell from the photos (my digital camera does not work too well up close) but it is dated 1941.
I just wanted to know if the case is WWII or post-war.
Thanks,
Mike
Hi Guys
Does anyone know what happened to NickVR? Have not seen him around for a while.
Regards, fischer
I found this one for $375. Here is the sellers description:
"This one has defiantly been there, and has put some time. The exterior of the helmet has most of the paint intact with just a little bit missing from the top. The chinstrap is there, but has broken away on the side. There is a maker mark on the tip of the strap. Over all a nice combat veteran that has the been there look."
Is it strange that the chinstrap is dated 1940?, or is that because they had extras in supply?
I am assuming its original.
