Need help! M40 restuaration questions for true experts…

Hi there,

Need help with restoring my first Stahlhelm, an M40. I'm thinking of performing electrolysis on what appears to be minor surface rust but I'm affraid it will damage the original decal, will this be the case? If so, what are the alternatives?

I'm also going to need help with removing the inner and outer liner rings and I want to know if electrolysis can be performed on them as well.

Furthermore, I'm not entirely shure of how to go through the entire restoration of the shell from derusting/paint removal to that new antiqued feldgrau finish, I might also have to smouth out small cracks and dents caused by rust. A step by step of all treatments that will ensure the helms protection and exact replication whilst retaining the original decal (very important) will be appreciated!

The helm is in relative good shape despite being neglegted for a long time, so I really want to do this the right way and do it justice. EXPERT HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!

AOL users problem

Just discovered the AOL server problem that AOL @-mail recipients is bounced outgoing forum notifications and any subscriptions or forum notes is unavailable. Due of a lot of @-mails notifications sent by forum, the AOL close our mailserver as SPAMMER
I will try to solve that problem, but looks like that is not a easy issue.
If I cannot solve that- I will inform to change the primary @-mail for AOL users.
Cheers,
Dimas

P 38 simulated pistol

This is a very life-like copy of a P 38. Even the grips appear to be bakelite. It has a clip, and fires double-action only. When you pull the trigger the entire action moves backwards. Any idea what it is worth? Does anybody collect them? Incidentaaly this "weapon" can NOT be made to fire, I am sure. There is a pin in the barrell.

Another great ebay visor cap

Not mine unfortunately :weep: the owner is a member of WAF who would appreciate more comments. The badges are clunkers of course but as he says:

"i bought this cap from ebay about 6 years ago,it came with no insignia except an army wreath pinned on?,i purchased and put the insignia on later, the sellar was in canada and the cap was pulled by ebay as the seller had a picture of the runes on there, i then purchased the cap from the seller privatley"

German Medal Groups

As I continue to try to "learn" the nature of this forum, I seek things to post that may be of greater interest than most of what I have put up.

While German material is in no way even near the core of my interest, a few German medal groups have somehow crept in. I thought I'd share them here. There are very few Nazi things, and this is intentional, as I don't "do" the Nazi "stuff".

I hope some find these of interest.
