A double breasted tunic tailored by the firm of Niemann Lappe of Kiel. Kiel was the political center of Gau Schleswig-Holstein. Therefore, it is likely this tunic was the property of Gauleiter Hinrich Lohse. The breast badge and ribbon bar spacing match the awards Lohse wore and the proper ones are displayed on the tunic.
Lohse held the rank of Gruppenfuhrer in the SA. During the years 1941-1944, Lohse was a Reichs Commisioner of the RMBO and headquartered in Riga.
Hi,
Would anyone understand Swedish? could one understand what is written and stamped in this 1944 Polish passport?
Thanks,
Neil.
Hi,
Thought of sharing this one with you. A Reisepass issued to a Jew in Berlin who used it to go to Shanghai. No visas since Shanghai was one of the few places that did not require a visa. Stops in Colombo and Hong Kong. The holder was in the "Shanghai Ghetto" until he immigrated to Israel in 1950, as stamped inside: An Israeli border stamp in a Nazi Germany issued passport, very interesting.
Neil.
Hi Chaps, I've been after one of these for a while, so I thought I'd post it up. As you can see it's a 1939 dated belt, in mint condition & in size 120cm's. Almost too big for me; but it just fits!! It's never had a buckle fitted so I'm going to take it easy with it. As for condition it's a little dry with a few minor cracks on the inside; but nothing major. Anyway, I'm well chuffed with it:)
Cheers,
Richard.
Gentlemen,
These photos are from a flag that was supposedly captured by finnish troops in the area of Karelia in 1941.
It would be nice if the experts could let us know what they think about it.
If it is indeed a real wartime flag, it would be (at least for me) the best source of closeup photos of a flag of this type that I have ever seen.
Regards,
Gus
i receive today my first canadian medal , is not the war medal, but ,its the Queen silver jubilee ( 25years ) i think is the last medal made in silver by Canada , but i not sure about this ...here the description :
The circular silver medal, 1.25 inches (32 mm) in diameter, has a thin, smooth raised rim.
There were 30,000 medals issued, including 7,000 to the Canadian Forces, 5,500 to the regular force and 1,500 to the reserve forces
The obverse , shows Queen Elizabeth II, facing right, wearing the high Imperial State Crown. The inscription around the rim reads: ELIZABETH II DEI GRATIA REGINA FID DEF.
The reverse, shows a large stylized maple leaf with CANADA around the top rim and 1952 EIIR 1977 in small lettering around the bottom of the rim. The EIIR has a small crown on top. In very small letters above and between the EIIR and 1977 is the word HUNT
Hi folks, would be appreciative if someone would kindly give me some information about a beret badge I have. It was given to me by my Grand mother. It is a metallic beret badge with RFC (Royal flying Corp ??) in the centre of a crowned pair of wings. On the back it says silver? Thanks for any information or advice thanks Stuart can upload picture cheers
Just got this, apparently it was found amongst the medals and other belongings of a vet from the durham light infantry, its been varnished on the front a long time ago and full of woodworm, has anybody any pics of a similar type of skull , the wood looks to be from some sort of crate ?the paint is old and appears to be a thick tar like paint, cheers Dave
