Auction: Genuine lieutenant’s field tunic M36 / Feldbluse M36

Hi forum,

i'd like to sell a genuine uniform jacket m36, worn by my girlfriend's grandfather in WW2. We found it in an old locker while cleaning up two weekends ago. The owner died some years ago, his wife doesn't want the tunic and asked us to sell it or give it away.

In WW2 my girlfriends grandpa fought on eastern front and was POW for about five years, as you can see on the epaulette his rank was lieutenant. The jacket is a bit dusty, we didn't clean it and will let that to an expert.

I took several photos in a good resolution, you'll have to contact me and i'll send them via email. The swastika on the photos is masked to meet german law.

As i couldn't find any size i will give the height from buttom to shoulder: 60 cm or 23.6 inches.
The sleeves are 66 cm or 26 inches long.

I will ship the item worldwide, all international buyers are welcome, shipping cost will vary by location. I will ship from germany and use your favoured postal service, adding the cost to sale price. Due taxes have to be paid by the buyer.

Payment can be made by paypal or international bank transfer, you can call me after auction for detail on payment.

I will neither give a guarantee on durability nor take back the jacket. Apart from that I will guarantee that the jacket is genuineand not a replica.

Am I being scamed? (Dealer: Tonelli?)

It might be because I'm a worry wart, but I'm having a little bit of uneasiness about this site I'm bidding on.

First, it is controlled by the person selling the photographs. (Named Joe Tonelli?) He has a thing on ebay called joescollectabiles or something. I've never personally purchased anything from him.a

Anyway, I put high bid amounts on three photos with the intentions of selling at least one to make up for buying the rest. It would seem that at 9:00 this morning, all the bids went just about right up the to the maximum at the same time--in less than 1 minute.

So, like, am I being cheated? Because the guy has the power to manipulate bids as he sees fit. I know the photos, ebay wise, are likely more way more than what I am bidding, but I hate hate hate being cheated. Do you have any insight into this? Either, the character of the seller, or if this is a good idea? I noticed no other "bids" were put in at eight in the German section--it was only on my three photographs.

I'm not trying to accuse anyone, but I am now really worried about bidding off of ebay.

Medal preservation

Hi again guy's,
I expect this topic has been covered before but here we go again!

As is common knowledge the 'aging' & 'patina' of wartime medals adds a certain value of 'untouched' quality..
When I started collecting medals I remember an old sage telling me to leave them in their untouched condition, the urge to 'shine' these babies is so overwhelming ;) well, me being me of weaker mind has in the past 'cleaned to a shine' certain artefact's in my collection, although they seem to dull again with time almost immediately!

So my question really is this, if you clean your medals does it really devalue them? obviously I wouldn't add black paint to my EK I & II , this would be a crime, but the 'silver' just itches to shine again.....:)

Am I alone in this?

Battlefield Helmet Finds

I just wanted to see what many helmets some of you have found. They can be helmets from any military during WW2.

I cant wait to see what some of you have found! :D

This is a good chance to show off some of your hard earned finds.

Cant wait to see them! :shok_yikes:

Could Hitler drive?

Hi Guys,

I found this picture on the net today. It shows Hitler on his 50th birthday being presented a VW Beetle by Ferdinand Porsche. Also can be seen Bormann, Ley and other leading nazis.

My question is: Is there any evidence, photographic or otherwise that Hitler could drive, or held a driving licence (If they existed then)? I personally have never seen or heard pictures or descriptions of Hitler driving and am wondering if anyone of you out there have any evidence to share?

Intrigued, Ned.
