Found some American and German ammunition around the Eifel around some trench positions this
included a live 60 mm mortar round and live american grenade minus the fuze. The bullet head is from a 30 cal round the black head indicates AP. The wodds around this area are still full of ordnance.
I have never noticed a Luftwaffe Officer wearing an eagle on his upper left arm like the Waffen SS (and Hitler) did. Is that common?
hi all , this knife has some issues which i`d like opinions on ! Firstly , the maker mark on the blade - notice where it says solingen , the en has been replaced with F11 , is this a pre `45 stamp or later ? Secondly , the shape and condition of the blade - i don`t know if this has been ground and chromed later or is this of later than period manufacture ? What do you think of the RZM marks ? The fittings are non magnetic which are plated and are showing wear . the grips look replaced and has steel rivets, but the lozenge looks fine and has a slight wiggle ! The scabbard is a nice original period piece . All comments welcome ! :)
cheers Al
On all the lists i have of official cuff titles i've never seen one to Bataillon Narva , the first Estonian Waffen SS Combat unit who fought with Wiking.
However this photo maybe suggests differently , anyone seen anything similar and what are your thoughts ??
