just won this on the ebay so not in hand as yet,, apparently liberated by the guards division 1945, it looks like they added these details when they got it from the rhein,
Just picked up this great little sidecap marked 11./SS-Rgt.Germania. Minus insignia unfortunately (not for long though :) and evidence of a soutache but can't tell what colour.
I haven't seen many other SS field caps marked in this fashion, has anyone else?
Hello All
Not sure if this question should be in the Re-enacting part of the forum! but could anyone tell me just how different the Chang Jiang 750 is from the original BMW R75. Ive not seen many decent photos of original wartime examples and was curious as to how original they can be made to look, would be a nice chance to post some nice pics of bikes on the forum too.
Thanks
Reg
I'm not knowledgeable about WW2 armbands and have never seen one with this stamp or any stamp on the outside? Thanks
Hi...
I buyed this one once for a few euros:
Shall I clean it? Won't I damage it too much?
Do you think the hole in the back is a bullet hole?
Is that stuff on the front right side the remainig camouflage net?
Thanks
Hi Guys, passes to get into senior military HQ's were items which were carefully issued and guarded.
"AF" HQ was in North Africa and was a joint US/British affair set up in Feb 1943. It continued as the HQ for all Operation in the Med until disbanded in August 1945.
This pass was issed to a British soldier. Note the way Private, "Pte" is written instead of "Pvt" in US terminology ;)
Note also the instruction on the reverse about what should happen to the pass if lost or found. It was printed in May 1943.
No doubt this pass was kept against orders as a souvenir and at one time was kept in a photo album until it was sold and broken up in a house clearance sale. I bought it for 50p.
Cheers, Ade.
