Here is another piece that I havent been able to find anywhere else. My knowledge of armbands is limited, so any help is appreciated. I've found different SS bands but none without the black stripes on the top and bottom so I thought I'd share :) All comments appreciated Real/Fake, Rare/Common, historical facts, anything.
As some of you will know, I collect the pieces that are dug up from mother earth.
I think that an item removed from the soil, can speak volumes. More so than a "minty" item.
I have had in my small collection a number of years an SS buckle. Not that exciting, but when you consider that it is a nickel buckle, by overhoff, and it has traces of green paint, and the belt is still attached (some missing) But best of all it came with one Ammo pouch. Marked stamped and dated for the SS. A nice touch. It took me a long time to prise this article from a good friend of mine, but I'm sure you will agree, it has character. It came from an area in Russia some years back.
I hope you enjoy seeing it.

Does anyone know where I would be able to get an old beat up, well used stock for my K98 relic? I'm trying to make it look more like a rifle because everyone that see's it on the wall always asks what it it! I'm also looking for any other parts e.g trigger gaurds, metal bands, butt plates etc. However all these pieces all have to be in similar condition to the rifle (pictured below)
Thanks
Danny
Amongst the bewildering range of drum magazine pouches for the PPSh-41 which seem to abound on the Net (sure they can't all be real!) I have seen one which says it was for the PPD - it resembles a PPSh pouch but has a leather trim to the edge of the flap. Might this have been used with the PPSh? I like the look of it but don't want to get a pouch which would never have been used with the PPSh - although I reckon RKKA would have used whatever they could....?
thanks
This is another item given to me by my grandfather. After some searching around i've found similar items just not in the gold finish. It seems to be in good shape, i didnt know if the others that i've seen were just tarnished or the finish has worn off? Is this the same or different from the silver/steel/nickel ones around?
Here is interesting pictures to share, the Stuka was found in the Rschew area ( Tver region) , central Russia
WNr 27 61. Stammkennzeichen VD+GY, Kennung T6+GS, FF Besatzung Uffz Karl Friedl, BF ( Mashine gunner) Uffz Heinz Pierau

So beginning:
Hello!! newbie here, I have been bit by the bug. I am going to be asking a lot of questions coming up, just a little warning & warming up : )
Is this type of ring attachment at top of this combat service medal, a rare or scarce variation type? Most I have seen have a ring soldered to the top.
Was this medal made & awarded during WW2, not after?
When looking at numbered Soviet medals are all the 6 digit awards generally WWII pre 45 made and awarded?
Is there some online reference to these number ranges?
Also pics of an order of Red Star medal. I would like to buy this one also. Is this Red Star order/medal pre 45 made and awarded?
It seems the engraver made a mistake, or he/she carved the "39" deeper on purpose, not sure.
I know both are salty, and not mint, but I like them exactly like this.
Thanks, Regards, Steve
Hi, pics of a "SS" belt buckle. Is it real? If so, do you think it is worth $150US. I do not want mint examples, I like the looks of this dug relic, and might get this, IF real.
Thanks, Steve
