Hi, im new to this forum so firstly "Hello"

and thanks for taking the time to read my post.

Ive allways wanted a German Helmet from the WWII era, but having browsed the forums, im now in doubt as to wether the helmet is genuine.

i purchased this particular helmet for 25 quid in a flea market some years ago.. i realize the insignias are not real as they are the transfers that can be purchased from just about anywhere.

but what has me realy doubting its age, is the weight, and the fact that the helmet is riveted all the way round? There is also a piece on the front which looks like it may retain something else also.

anyway if someone could explain wether this is german or a modern copy i would realy appreciate it.

A seller tried to pass this off as a genuine authentic SS double decal helmet 3 color camo for $125!!! :o( Is this guy crazy? ... look at how bad a fake this is!

Do these two hats look original to you? How much in your opinion should these go for in dollars? Are they authentic?

As I have lost pictures of the similar set I owe about 10 years ago, and trade it to John Suprin. I've never saw pictures of the similar camo being use. This set is for sale at svmilitaria.com. As my set was found in the landing survive pack on the wreck of Stuka Ju-87, they are well preserved in the deep swamp. Just my piece has a black traces from a shoe polish cream which was put inside of the breast pocket. Also this example I can say has the same story, as I can see swamp traces and some rust on surface of the camo, which is from a MP or Hunting gun, which is came in complete with survival kit. Probably that kind of camo was made especially for pilots who has a rescue landing. And only the way to get it- from the recovered bombers...

I have been working on this collection for three years, I am doing very well for being only 12 Years Old!!! :) Yes, I knoe that the SS helmet is a fake, and the other M40 was refurbished by germanhelmetsinc.com (Ken N).

Just thought I might post this one of mine. It is decativated due to the fact that my parents would not let me have a firing one...... yes I am only 12 years old! :) It is dated 1938, and does anybody know the company of factory that produced this rifle (I saw some BM markings, but I do not know what they are)
