Nifty old RAF find!

Was going through some old stuff and was quite delighted to find this super RAF wallet. It is stamped on front RAF with crown, with surrounding garland and 3 painted stripes. Inside is stamped Real Calf On Goat and Made in England. It is in very nice condition.

Cool Gift from German Pal Tank & SS Helm

Guys,

I was given these items from a German friend, he has had them in the family since they were originaly bought.

He thought I would like the small tank which has local interest being from Bergen(where I live) . It is also a piggy bank sadly no key but you can't have it all.

The SS helmet thing is also cool, an ash tray I presume?

I don't think they had Action man or GI Joe back then so It must be an ash tray!

Regards

Jock:)

LW M40 unit marked chinstrap

Guys,

Thought I would show this, the chinstrap is slightly redish colour as I once used some Ox blood polish on it when I was bulling my shoes, bit of an error but still nicely unit stamped.

Question military pouch

Hi, I'm trying to figure out a pouch and belt I picked up recently. No picture available, haven't figured how to yet. Description; pouch is 6.5 inches long, 3.75 inches tall, held shut by brass knob and strap "Rock island arsenal W.K.". It reminds me of one I saw from Spanish American war but on front is circled U.S.M.C. instead of U.S.. It is very dark brown tending to black, and held on by belt straps. inside has sewn in leather strap, 1.25 inches wide, sewn in middle but all the way across both sides of pouch. Belt is black, not stamped, an measures 1.75 inches wide by 44 inches long. Missing front part of buckle, but back clip part is brass,2 1/8 wide to belt an .75 long with rectangular hole. may be stamped tca or tco. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Reichsfuhrer SS Staff - double decal helmet SS Q M35

Thanks to Bob Coleman for passing along this forum information, it looks like a real winner. Here is my first post and hope there will be many more.

For your review is a helmet that if you own a copy of SS Steel you will recognize, ppg 201-204. For those who do not have that must have book here are some details of this amazing helmet.

The helmet is a Q66 M35 double decal helmet SS, lotnr 4287 that is perfectly dated 1939 on the liner, faded domestamp and the ROHM&KAMPMANN WUPPERTAL chinstrap and the steel liner pins are in the 39 transitory period out of brass rivets. The decals are classic factory applied Q runic and party decals which have been damaged by stacking or careless storage. Kelly writes in his book perhaps by defacing, however I understand the damage occured when the helmet was transported home with the veteran who liberated it.

SS Sturmbannfuhrer Alois Rehrl served on the personal staff of RFSS and was in this capacity at wars end. This helmet was captured in Berchtesgaden on May 5, 1945 by a member of the 506 Para Btn, 101st Airborne Div (Screaming Eagles) and the research places Rehrl at Berchestgaden at wars end. There is no doubting that Rehrl would have served Himmler in his residence at the Berghof as the rank befits this status. Did this helmet come near the leader of the Das Schwarze Korps at some point, and others among the entourage of the little Corporal perhaps? Who knows, but if there was a helmet that could relay some stories, this would be it. Or perhaps it sat in Rehrl's locker. Whatever the unique history behind this Waffen SS helmet, it was stationed in the unofficial seat of power of Nazi Germany.

This is a personal favorite of mine (heck they all are...) given the history and provenance as well as who the former owner was and whom he served.

Cheers,
Doug (SSTk)

Panzerschreck rocket connector

Hi all,
For all the rockets and kistas and parts I've seen for the schreck AND the GREAT restauration Bjorn did on the firing mechanism of the schrek, I have seen NOTHING on the wood connector of the rocket to the launcher !!!!!!!!! Does anyone have any of these they've dug up ? For all the rockets launched there must have been as many of these parts left behind. The interest is mechanical details of metal contactor, how it was soldered, and the tape that kept it attached to the rocket. Anything would be appreciated.

YOU BETCHA !!!!!!!!!

Best Regards,
Bill
