What type of helmet is this? It seems like a Vietnam era helmet to me? What does MVl on the bottom of the liner mean? Is this original? Somebody told me that this is a paratrooper helmet.
How much is it worth?

noticed on different reliable site(said to be) that one dealer in New England was selling this for $800.00, while another reliable dealer for $150.00.
Do I really need to ask which one is mine? I've had a excrementa
week so far.

I'm new to this forum and I figured a few experts on here would be able to help me solve my mystery. I was given this helmet as a gift...I know nothing of its origin prior to its purchase, but I was hoping to find out whether it's a fake or authentic. Its condition looks almost too well kept to be genuine. If anyone could provide some insight on the model or type, I would be most grateful.

just agreed to buy this cap ,it belonged to Benno Herrmann holder of the knights cross , it origionally came from detlev n ,it also comes with his goggles and a couple of pics with him wearing this cap, it needs a button for the cord so if anybody has one for sale please let me know, will post pics when it lands cheers dave

I have rediscovered this one. Its local to where I am (well just up the road) being from Luneburg.
It had no eagle but apart from that was untouched!:).
The millener is Nesemann.
Which reminds me of a joke in this months Zoo, 'Had a run in with a Gangsta Millener, he popped a cap in my ass'.:b:

Hey guys.
I bought this helmet on ebay for 11 Eur.
I have some pictures i just wanted to share with you guys.
The helmet is stamped US 78 or US 72, i cant really tell, but i think its 78. And the soldier who had the helmet have witten his initials all over this thing.
I thought is was kinda neat that the liner had camo paint, i haven't seen that before.
It is also stamped "SML LOT 11" on the headband.
If any of you have more info on the helmet, don't hesitate to post it or PM me :)
