Stuff Still Out There..Waiting To Be Rescued

Hello Gents, Last July, I received a call from a realtor friend of mine, said he had a client that was moving and had some militaria she wanted to find a good home for.
The next morning, a half mile from my home this is one of the Items that was in the garage. A complete WWI foot locker, boy was I surprised when I opened it. :o(:o(

WW1 Short Film ~ Your Help Needed.

Hi, my names Marc Ward, and I'm part of an independent film-making team based in Norfolk, and we are looking to tap your extensive knowledge and resources for a short film, currently in pre production.

The film centres around a lone WW1 soldier/tommy and we are looking to shoot in and around Norfolk/Cambridgeshire and London in the upcoming months.

Being an independent film, the budget is extremely low. So we're looking for as much kind help and assistance as possible.

The loan of :
1 WW1 tommy/soldiers uniform (full kit, inc helmet. No guns needed).
Period photographs and postcards (soldier portraits, family shots and ordinary life etc).
2 Bayonets/Swords, 1 Combat Knife and a few Hand Grenades.
And of course, period expertise on anything WW1 related.

Although we have a limited budget, we will be shooting this on 16mm film, through a 'real' film camera and the piece will have extremely high production values for a short film.

So if you'd like to be part of this venture, with credits on the finished film, then we would kindly appreciate any help you can offer us.

Please respond via private messages or email wardfilms@googlemail.com

Thanks.
Marc Ward.

Nice Black Visor from Ebay!

Picked this one up from ebay recently. Unfortunately missing the eagle and there's a little bit of moth damage to the piping but a super cap nonetheless. The most noticeable thing about this one is the weight, it's as light as a feather. If anyone knows of a nice cupal eagle to match the Deschler skull, I'd really appreciate a PM, thanks.
Happy hunting!
Ben

Question K98 Mauser bnz 42

During World War II, the Soviet Union captured millions of Mauser Karabiner 98k rifles and re-arsenaled them in various arms factories in the late 1940s and early 1950s. These rifles were originally stored in the event of future hostilities with the Western democracies. These rifles, referred to by collectors as RC ("Russian Capture") Mausers, can be identified by a crude "X" stamp on the left side of the receiver.

what is the worth for that kind of rifle?
would you classify it as less worthy?

i know that bnz mean it was created in Mauthausen-Gusen Concentration Camp in Austria, adjacent to the Stehr factory.

i'm not sure if i should buy it or not....
