There is no HS on it, is it a blank or maybe a flare ?
I am about 99% sure this is a fantasy piece, but I don't know everything (far from it :) ) So I will ask for a second opinion. It is lauded as a Fallschirmjager/SS pin. :)
What can you tell me about this odd & unusual plane? I can guess that it is a WW 1 French plane, with a pusher-type motor. But what is the Hakenkreuz for? On the back something is written. Can anybody tell me what it says? Thanks in advance for any help you can render.

This is a postcard of my Grandfather, taken by an official photographer for the 87th Division, Camp Pike, Arkansas, USA while in basic training during WWI.
I would appreciate any information about his weapon, etc. Thanks.

Hi Guys, this was a new item of headgear introduced in 1944 for the ATS. It was not designed to replace the familiar floppy top Service dress cap, but was intended to be worn with Battledress only.
The cap badge, which by this stage of the war was plastic was worn on a tear dropped shaped backing of the ATS Corps colours. (Beware buying these tear drops alone today, they are well faked.)
Construction follows that of the different coloured men's beret of various arms of service. Note the details to the air vents, leather backing, loose thread sewn around the liner, WD inspection marks etc. The makers detail which were printed in white ink to the crown of the lining have worn off with use. This is quite common. However, I can almost gurantee this beret was made by Kangol due the tiny remains of a paper size label sewn into the lining.
Even though there are no date stamps visable due to wear, the WD inspection stamp can enable a collector to date an item. The "Z" above the WD broad arrow equates to 1945. ;)
Cheers, Ade.
My friend's picture, and what I found in the net, someone has made interresting comparition
I can't believe I left it so long to clean this relic!!!!
I found it around 8 months ago at a former UK WW2 airfield, it was covered in a concretion of mud with nothing showing, but was interesting in that it was made of alumimnium. Sadly I didn't clean it immediately, in fact I soon forgot about it altogether and its been sitting in the boot of my car ever since, even traveling to Normandy with me. Anyway tonight I was looking at pictures of relics on this site and suddenly remembered it.
I retrieved it from my car and gave it a soak, the water softened the mud and then a liberal sponging soon revealed all the markings.
The top is marked
'ROTAX-HARLEY APPVd AIRCRAFT LANDING LAMP. MADE IN ENGLAND'
and at the bottom
'MODEL 8 E.D PATENTS} 372285, 430401, 456571 & OTHERS SERIAL No 2951'
Can anyone provide any information about this, Perhaps the aircraft that used it or a photo of the system in situ.
Thanks for looking.

Hello all, this is my first post on this forum.
I have been looking at soviet tank crew helmets on ebay, finally bought one and it turned out to be the wrong size :weep:. I had a Russian speaking friend tell me that it was a size 2 which in and of itself tells me nothing. There is a gentleman on ebay who says he has the same helmet that I'm looking for in sizes 3 and 4.
I was wondering if any of you knew what the sizes 1 2 3 and 4 (or 5 if they made them that big) corresponded to in centimeter measurements? I dread ending up with a helmet that is too big for me :(.
