I purchased these in 1993 on Jersey Island off of France. Jersey Island was and is owned by Great Britain and was occupied by the Germans. There is an underground hospital there and was a stronghold. GB never tried to retake the island because it was too heavily fortified.
It was Hitler's favourite conquest being that it was like having a piece of England.
This spool of thread was used in the construction of SS Gestapo uniforms.

Here is a fake Heer dagger marked FW Holler, they appear to have used a " Herder " design eagle on it rather than a Holler design, the easy way to identify it as fake is that the logo says Berlin on it rather than Solingen.
Talking about military relic hunters, in my region the 1266 is pretty popular amongst the "old" diggers.
I do have a spare MD which I use for particular situations, and it's a Fisher 1236-x2. I am now thinking to swap it for a 1266. My question is: is it really more powerful than the machine I have now? which are the main differences, pros and cos of these 2 machines?
For the record, I do use a Teknetics T2 as first MD.
thanks
During my last relic hunt, I found also this alloy tent pole, in an area where the ground was littered by british and american spent cases.
It is not marked and it could be possibly also postwar, although it looks military.
Anyone knows it?
Would anyone be interested in a discussion of AVIS Handgun Holsters. They are among my favorite collectibles and I have a few to share with you. Please open a discussion if you share this area of interest. Here is my first offering it is a Beretta Italian Military .
I'm looking for any relic firearms, pistols, rifles, machine guns etc so is anyone selling.
Thanks
Danny
Any idea what branch of the service he was in? Notice the back - he served in Romania for a while in 1917-18.
