This is one of my purchases at the SOS. The pre 1939 pattern tunic and breeches of the Gauleiter of Baden, Robert Wagner. Although this tunic is private purchase, it is not named. However, the ribbon bar, which is original to the tunic, displays medals Wagner was awarded. The tunic was also tailored in the political center of Baden. The cap is proper for wear with this tunic and was purchased seperately at the SOS but is not Wagner's.
Wagner was tried for crimes against humanity by a French military court and executed by firing squad in 1946.

Forgive me for my ignorance, identifying this is not a strong point. A local farmer recently cleared some woodland and discovered this. Knowing of my interest and I thought knowledge in WW2 he asked if I could positively identify it. It appears to be completely solid metal its very heavy, an Armour Peircing round perhaps a 2 pounder?. I couldn't help him with much information, but thought may be you could help. He said that before DDay both English and Canadien troops had used the woodland. Its dimensions as you can see in the photo's is 7inches by 2.5 inches.
Thanks
